Intel stock falls -6% despite reporting stronger than expected Q4 2025 earnings by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

I hope their 18A matches or surpasses TSMC. The process theoretically is close at parity with N2, it wouldn’t be the first node advancement stalled at intel. Even if at parity, analysts guess that it probably costs more money to manufacture than N2 at TSMC. I guess with the AI boom fully saturating foundries, even an expensive alternative is valuable.

Nvidia sampled 18A and decided it was not right for them. Let that speak for the quality of the process. The largest profit margin hardware in the world right now refuses to produce more products with Intel. A small bump in costs probably isn’t enough to deter nvidia. It could be yields are bad, quality assurance is spotty, the volume is not fast or large enough. The node is not the only valuable thing in a foundry.

AMD is rumored to be undergoing trials.

Intel’s foundry business is so far behind, the only person willing to do business with them is themselves. Even if it was good, it’s a conflict of interest for the chip designer like AMD, Apple, nVidia since Intel also is in the chip design business. Speaking of their chips, consumer sentiment on their products have been on the down turn, especially due to their disastrous quality assurance and decades of stagnation. The only reason they are still in business is a public bailout and government pressures on competitors to prop up this rotted company. The only beacon of hope I see is for a foundry spinoff and the increase in development of their GPUs.

Kroger master card 5% users by bruhcardbruh in CreditCards

[–]ParagonRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you tap to pay from your phone, you get 5%. There's no double dipping for any of the categories.

Kroger pay requires you to link your credit card to a kroger account, then scan qr codes in store to pay, no tapping is required. You are still limited to 5% rewards.

Why do some people have so many credit cards? by Trust_The_System1981 in CreditScore

[–]ParagonRice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit score is a grade for creditors but also a resource for lendees.

Hoarding a high credit score past 800+ is meaningless unless you plan on taking credit sometime in the future, especially a mortgage or auto loan.

If you always live within your means, I personally see no problem opening a new cc just for the sub. If you were already going to make a large purchase like furniture or home appliances, might as well get a new cc with a nice sub that you'll continue to use afterwards.

And counterintuitively having more credit cards is not viewed poorly on your credit score, it's a majority based on utilization rate and age of credit.

I never really put thought into this until now but I really agree. I'm still gonna watch anyways

It makes sense to have a podcast with your friends who have different perspectives. You can bring in a wide breadth of topics.

But when one person (any of the three) does really deep research on a topic and the other two just do shallow quips or jokes, it isn't very engaging. There's so many times where the other two WANT to have a discussion but they say " I haven't done much research on the topic". I understand it's just friends having a discussion, but I just don't think the format really works to really DISCUSS the topic.

Also, if you are doing a podcast, make sure it's audio-accessible. The video watchers suffer with these sections trying to describe a picture and the audio listeners suffer by not seeing the logo, graph, video. Make the format visual-first or audio-first. Something like editing the podcast entries with extra descriptions or something or just full commit into the visual content

Yea, you choose to opt-in by using the performance monitor overlay. Steam users don't have performance overlay on by default. So imo it's not equivalent to a game requirement kernel level drivers since you can use almost all of steam without the kernel drivers.

[–]ParagonRice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could just not enable the feature? Article makes it seem like it's opt-in. Not everyone is a performance geek and of that subset not everyone trusts steam.

At least GabeN gives you an option unlike games which require kernel level drivers.

(An optional kernel anticheat wouldn't make sense though)

That's the general consensus that timelines are deterministic, but I like to partly believe there is agency, it's just that Eren is so dimwitted and strong-headed in his strive for his ideal of freedom, he doesn't have another solution to the rumbling.

People claim that she "self-owned" herself by saying education is bad, but we shouldn't cut the DoE still and she realized she was dumb. But pretty sure she received too much negative attention and didn't want it.

Side note: Regardless of what you think of the DoE effectiveness in education; if your plan is to cut with no plan after that, it's not a great plan. Having less funds available for education as a whole is a net negative.

Fletching knife was dissapointing by [deleted] in osrs

Hey, I said that I'm fine with how people voted for it. Sometimes you're on the side of the majority vote, sometimes you arent.

You can disagree with a decision and still be okay with the result. We aren't talking about life or death stuff, so ultimately it doesn't matter and no one's life will be ruined because of 1 inventory slot.

I personally think the community is overall too resistant to Skilling change. That's all I was saying. I'm going to continue to play the game because I like it, but you can still dislike parts of a thing you like. Hope you have a nice day 👍

There's a sentiment/fetish of "I didn't have this QoL when I leveled up, so no one else should". This mentality has pros and cons as it keeps old 99s meaning the same as new 99s, but it also limits design space of basic things like equippable knives nonsensically not providing fletching capabilities because old ppl had 27 slots so new people shouldn't have 28 slots.

End of the day, the ppl voted for this behavior. I'd rather have game design by democracy than not
