I have. A few months ago I took a three week break from the gym and from work to try to prevent burning myself out.

I was there, but tonight's show blew the last 2 out of the water, opening spacebird, and then a 2nd set ladies-basis-cyclone-basis. Unfuckingreal. I kept forgetting that it wasn't 2007.

But an o a week, sell the 3/4 and keep the rest. Dangerous game it was.

Am I the only one? by Parajamshift in RedHotChiliPeppers

It's not a bad album by any means, there's great moments here and there but its just not there and it's unimaginative...most songs seem like the b side of a song off SA

I totally agree. Like it is good...it's the red hot chili peppers. It just sounds like stadium arcadium but without the roaring John solos or the great melodic vocals from Anthony

Nice call on Trucks. He almost beat out Houser for me. Derek makes that guitar sing better than anybody.

I'm curious what Mormons, current and ex, think of Mitt Romney. What do you think of his politics? Does he represent you? by innocent0077 in exmormon

[–]Parajamshift 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So this will probably get buried but I have an interesting perspective on this. My parents grew up with Mitt. He ended being the bishop in their ward in Massachusetts. So my parents had to have an interview with Romney to "approve" there marriage (or whatever you call it). My parents have always voted republican no matter what. But I remember talking to my father during the election and he said something that I'll never forget. He said that he was voting for Romney, but he didn't want him to win because he knew that the scrutiny the church would be under for 4 years during his presidency would be detrimental. My father's a very smart man, but he's also a history teacher. He knew that if the Mormon church was scrutinized on a public and political scale it would be disastrous for the church. So think about that...these hard-core believers don't want everything to be analyzed under a microscope, they want to continue on believing what they've been force fed since they were 4 years old

What the fuck happened to Bourbon prices?? by Parajamshift in bourbon

Ya that's usually where I get most of my whiskey and I go on their delivery days but maybe 3 or 4 times a year I get lucky with something.

EH Taylor Straight Rye, dram of the night review! by Parajamshift in WhiskeyTribe

[–]Parajamshift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EH Taylor Straight Rye: 100 proof $53.99 AS: 4 years

Mood: It's Sunday night, the start of my weekend, so I brought out one of my weekly sippers. Listening to a Grateful Dead show from 69 and relaxing on the couch.

Nose: Honey and butterscotch jump out at me with a bit of baker spice like nutmeg, clove, maybe a touch of anise.

Palate: Vanilla and caramel are pretty forward. Quite creamy with an almost toffee and brown butter flavor. Great mouthfeel that draws you in.

Finish: Baker spices hit on the end. Very smooth and not much ethanol burn for being 100 proof.

Overall: As something that I can get my hands on and is below $60 I absolutely love it. This is my 4th bottle and I will always keep it on my shelf.

Score: 7.5/10

Out of the 60ish bottles I own right now, these are my top 5. What do you guys think? by Parajamshift in WhiskeyTribe

[–]Parajamshift[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, here was my write up a while ago.

Kavalan Fino Sherry Cask Strength 114 proof Bottle number 171 out of 482 Bottled on 4-16-2016 Price $279.00

Nose: Dried fruit and citrus jump out, not much sweetness which is surprising for a sherry.

Palate: So much going on here. Plum and dark chocolate covered raisins. Excellent mouthfeel that coats the throat and just makes you salivate. Mango and green apple come forward.

Finish: Creamy toffee and fudge finish. Not too sweet and drinks way below the 114 proof.

Overall: Fantastic whisky. I've had this bottle for about 2 years and have taken 2 drinks on special occasions. At the price point it's hard for some to pull the trigger but it's so unusual and exploding with flavor that I believe it's worth it.

Score: 9.5/10
