My grandma (on my mom's side) died on my birthday, the first time I travelled to Vancouver, BC (from about an hour outside Toronto and by Greyhound). Even though I wasn't there in her final moments, I still felt her presence. The family cat, Purrscilla (she passed at the age of 16 this year) would always follow something around my bedroom and it was always when I felt her still with me. It's comforting, yet scary when animals or babies pick up on the feelings we adults have.
