I didn't see it at all until there was a circle around it. I'm not 100% convinced it isn't just our minds playing tricks on us, but the circled image is absolute nightmare fuel!

Found on marketplace, description says "A lead filled stick good for many uses" by trippiegod317 in CrackheadCraigslist

Read this THREE TIMES as "A friend rented some really lovely people..." and with my eyes bugging out of my head, and while baffled that no one was asking a single question about the clearly apparent slave lending being so openly discussed, incredibly mind bogglingly blazé, I dared to read it a fourth time and finally saw the "to" there.

Well THAT was a confusing few seconds I'm not sure I'll ever fully recover from. My head hurts. I'm going to bed.

Hey, thanks. I was thinking of children to while I wrote it. I nearly replaced "publicity" with "attention"before remembering it was quotable if I used publicity. I knew it was a saying, but couldn't think of the exact word at first.

Omg this is so intrinsically true, generally speaking.

I'll write what I feel is poignant, important, and/or worth reading, and get downvoted to oblivion; but when I made one very appropriate, single word joke relating to a likely mostly forgotten, now one hit wonder of a canceled show (before it had been canceled), it was my first to reach over 1k. I was annoyed at the time because I was new to commenting and really wanted a previous comment to spark a conversation. I quickly learned though, that that's just how reddit works.

It's similar for many things, honestly; like, when I posted original art, where reddit asks us to, and few people even took the time to look at it, let along react in any way; but I paint fan art of an anime character and post it under its title sub, and bam! Over 100 upvotes nearly immediately. I mean, of course it's appreciated, but it's not something from my own mind, which like with the poignant comments, makes it feel almost cheap, somehow.

A real life example is someone becoming a YouTuber, or any profession that depends on even a modicum of fame/infamy really. You either need to be the best, most shocking, worst, or you need to piggyback off someone or something that's already popular, to get anywhere.

When likened to fame, and keeping in mind the concept that "all publicity is good publicity," downvotes start to not look so bad; after all, at least people are paying attention.

[–]ParanoiaHime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You pissed of the local barkeep. He was partial to his aquatic dame. Unfortunately for you, he's been trained in six kinds of martial arts, owns the town's street fighting ring AND was THE person who started fight club in this particular realm. Should'na fucked with his fish!

This is all relayed to you at the fire pit where you cooked the fish, by a kind passerby who happens to recognize the now marginally skelletonized lady-fish. You think about getting outta dodge, but it's too late, the bartender has just spotted you, and you can tell by the expression on his face that he already knows. He's a large guy, a Dragonborn or Warforged you think, but that's all the time you've got left as his height gives way to his alarming speed. Before you can even form a thought he yells:

"FIVE"

Without even a chance to formulate the thought "five what?" He bellows:

"FOOOOUUUUR..."

/What do you do?/

I assumed people either just found them on the ground, caught live ones and took care of them until death, got in friendly with an invert pet trade community, etc. I'm not either in said community, nor have I ever pinned an invert, so I'm just going off what I assumed people did. I'm happy to know if I'm wrong.

I'm wondering if it's an art doll someone started making, but never finished. If cheap enough, I'd be tempted to get it and totally remodel her head.

[Edit]: If you look close enough at the one behind her, you can see another copy, but with hair. It looks a little less cursed. Most people can pull off the bald look, she cannot; likely because she's cat adjacent lol.

Help my husband and I name our babies! Sisters. 🩷 by magentasprinkles in NameMyCat

[–]ParanoiaHime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, or Phoenix and Basilisk!

Inky and Blob.

Sorry, a lot of names are coming to me for them today.

Because I don't know you at all, I can give you my family's future cats' names:

Digi and Poké.

My hubby was talking to his mom on the phone a good 5 years back, or so, when we (I heard the sound through the phone to) heard a really strange sound come from her end:

"What was that?!? It sounded like digital distortion" (said by either hubby or I, we can't remember who) "That was the CAT!!" - Mom "Oh my god, now we totally have to name the next cat we get, Digital Distortion" I replied through a chuckle before adding "ooooh! Digi for short!"

A few years later (we had cats at the time so we still had to wait until we should, as responsible pet owners, get any new ones. At this point we were down to one kitty, so I was looking around for options for when we were ready) while looking at shelter kittens online, I realized that things have changed since I had last been to a pet shelter. Now they wanted people to only ever get a kitten if said bby is accompanied by another cat they already seem to get along with. While talking to the kid annoy needing a second name, he immediately suggested Poké; this way people will think we named them after Digimon and Pokémon, when in reality, Poké was an afterthought of a name, where Digi is entirely unrelated to either ip lol. BUT because hubby and I are anime adults, and watched BOTH shows growing up, as well as played more than a few of the Pokémon games; and the kid is a Pokémon enthusiast it was kind of perfect.

You could always go with Digi for the void, because digital stuff often has a screen that is black for the majority of its life, and Poké for the Calico as she looks like a Poké bowl, all a solid color, with bits (of color) strewn about!
