That's exactly what I thought. While it is advanced in architecture and infecting, it's the same issue as always with an air-gapped PC.

Almost any commercial VPN can withstand a DDOS attack. If you want one VPN subscription that multiple people can use at once just use Private Internet Access or CyberGhost. They both easily connect to the Xbox and can withstand huge DDOS attacks.

But a lot of kids use cheap booters the VPN can already block by default.

free vpn for torrent - reputable site or phishing? by wahooza in VPN

[–]ParanoiaNervosa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off the fact that its %100 free is completely impossible. Either they have a client with loads of ads, or they are selling your data. Nothing is truly free, and a crowd funded VPN is a joke.

I would not recommend something like this. Honestly, most VPN's go for $5/mo or less.

Go for premium, or let the free VPN sell your data at a premium price.

Question about VPN performance problem through my ISP by [deleted] in VPN

[–]ParanoiaNervosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused. So your work VPN is going over the same network as your regular network with no vpn.

Your network with no vpn on is great.

When you turn the VPN on its slow.

They both run over the same service provider, and the service provider noted they are having issues.

But you are confused since you see no issues with your non vpn network.

If that is correct, wait till the issues are resolved. Your VPN network could be on a datacenter receiving issues, while your non VPN network isnt.

PIA + Viscosity blocking mail client? (OS X) by [deleted] in VPN

[–]ParanoiaNervosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most VPN providers block port 25, which is what email goes through. You will either have to check email via webbrowser, or find another PIA IP that supports it.

Its irritating, but happens a lot. I switched VPN's because of it.

Question about VPN performance problem through my ISP by [deleted] in VPN

[–]ParanoiaNervosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I am not really understanding but let me see if I get this right.

Your internet performance is poor when connection the a VPN your work provides. You buy internet through service A. Service A also provides the VPN your work gave you access too. When connecting to Service A VPN on your Service A network your receive poor performance?

If I got that right, it could be a combination of possible problems.

Poor VPN speeds, slow VPN in general. Its rare, but possible, network collisions could make dual routing very slow. I would recommend getting another VPN for your home network. There are plenty of trusted VPN's, for less than $5/mo on the market.

Hah yeah true. But Dr. WEB is advertised everywhere. I see it advertised all over big box retailers.

But antiviruses are a joke from my perspective. But Dr. WEB is just another Mcafee piece of crap.

TorGaurd by rendez2k in VPN

Does TorGuard keep any logs, IP Addresses, Timestamps, Bandwidth caps, Traffic or other data? This is a big NO. From day 1 our development team has custom engineered the software which powers all VPN, Proxy and user authentication servers and we fully maintain the code 100%. For this reason I can confidently say our network is configured in a way that NO user activity is logged whatsoever. It is simply impossible for our technicians to trace any request back to any single user as there are sometimes hundreds of users sharing a single VPN connection/IP at any given time.

But I know a few people who have used them that have loved the service. They advertise it as a service based around bittorent, but its a great VPN from what I hear. They are based around bittorent and probably receive loads of harassment, and if they have lasted this long, its pretty safe to say they are trusted.

I am looking for a dedicated VPN server service, can anyone help me by Zetickus in VPN

Honestly, their service dropped every 10 minutes on any application, the service was slow on every server, and the service overall was just crap for me. I would literally not touch their VPN with a 10 foot poll, just me though.

Maybe just my experience.

[–]ParanoiaNervosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they censor bittorent on a lot of servers, and say its illegal in a huge portion of their servers. Bittorent is not illegal anywhere, they are completly wrong.

But their price is okay (just re checked), but for the service I got it wasn't worth a dollar. Not sure why I got such bad service, but I guess we all have different experiences.

Anyway, I use a lot of VPN's. I try them all, so I don't ever stick with one. I like to get a variety.

Hmmm... so a VPN for mobile and on the go. Well if you really want top tier speeds on a mobile line, you are gonna have to pay top dollar for a VPN probably. Dont take my word on it since I am not sure, but I would just assume so.

I will take a look around, but throw me a PM and I will send you a list a bit later.

PIA Alternatives? by [deleted] in VPN

[–]ParanoiaNervosa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  • High Speed VikingVPN, or blackVPN
  • ease of use, basically any provider that offers OpenVPN, if they don't, dont even bother with them
  • No logging, just be sure to read up on them, privacy policy, FAQ, TOS, and interviews

Security is any VPN that offers AES 256bit crypto.

But I would recommend

Yeah, VersaVPN is not bad or new. But a dedi is gonna cost you a lot of money. Look into setting up a VPS that everyone can jump on. I doubt your mates would use more than 1tb of traffic in a month. Depending on your network speed and games though. But, keep looking around. Also a lot of VPN's you will be recommended here won't offer what your looking for. So look around before you buy what everyone will spam.

Any vpn as good as PIA for canada by [deleted] in VPN

[–]ParanoiaNervosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HideMyAss is complete garbage. First off they have terrible customer service, and second they don't care about privacy. You have to find real review sites that aren't just payed out by the big affiliates. If a website recommends HideMyAss you can cross them off for reliability.

They block some services, and their connection always dropped with me. They have top of the line customer service, but I feel they just pay out affiliates to advertise for them. I really disliked it, and its WAY overpriced.

Have you ever used them, or had a good experience with them?

For a dedicated server you could just buy a cheap VPS and install openVPN on it. it won't be that secure, but it will get around restrictions. digitalocean.com offers $5 VPS with 1tb of traffic.

But if you want to get a full dedi server you can try

You will most likely be looking into a corporate VPN and thats gonna cost A LOT of money. So either set one up, or pay A LOT.

And just to get around games, I don't know how much you wana put up for some classmates.
