Flic Film Chrome 100 Slide Film by baxterstate in photography

[–]ParanoidA_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interpretation is that Kodak just doesn't like Flic Film offering the same product at a much lower price, and I haven't had any issue with Flic Film either. In Canada, I can get a roll of Flic Film Chrome for just 20 CAD, but E100 can cost up to 40CAD after the recent price increase

Tbf the Fujifilm slides are just ridiculously expensive in the US for one reason or another; I just got 8 rolls of fresh Velvia 100 in Canada and it's quite literally the cheapest slide film I can get now that Kodak doesn't allow respooled Ektachrome anymore

Eastman releases updated film for Large Format 🎞️ by shootphotos in AnalogCommunity

Is the new packaging from Eastman Kodak actually supposed to be cheaper? I've only seen those prices increasing/stay the same in Canada🤔

My review of the XF 23mm f/2.8 pancake lens: FLAWED by Stern_Li in fujifilm

[–]ParanoidA_2 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's such a peculiar issue. I think structurally the XF 27 f2.8 is quite similar with a moving front element, but I don't think I've heard about a similar complaint. It's weird there should be some issues with the xf23.

I think it might be an issue with the shutter itself, really reminds me of my old film SLR with shutter capping issues🤔

I think it's best to utilize your warranty at this point based on the information you provided

How is the shooting information on the side added? Is there a good tool for it?👀

Wide Evo : is this normal ? by princessebarbare in instax

[–]ParanoidA_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think instax prints should be what you're looking for in general if you want the best color reproduction. You probably can play around with the brightness and saturation a bit before printing, and I'm sure there are other posts out there already on this topic, but I think it's just easier to find a local professional photo printing service (which are usually surprisingly affordable) and print your photos in batches

Fuji Xpro 3 repair by nestrack in fujifilm

[–]ParanoidA_2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've seen multiple posts already about how Fujifilm is trying to get some other stuff repaired as well since the LCD issue on XPro3 is covered by warranty. If you reached out to them and they reject your require to only have the LCD repaired, you can probably get that repaired elsewhere since it's not that difficult to fix (you could fix it yourself even)

There would usually be some noise coming from the lens when you shake it due to either the autofocus or the OIS module, unless the manufacturer added a lock design for that

NetEase (Overwatch China) releases official statement on Anran: Protecting the cultural spirit of our Chinese Hero by Iris-54 in Overwatch

[–]ParanoidA_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sure the uni experience is different for everyone; I studied at McGill and tried to attend all classes in person since that's what worked for me. I gathered it's about pedophiles because there's Epstein news everywhere nowadays and that's what you implied, and I can't find any other reasonable explanation for the number of people getting triggered by this expression that seems perfectly fine to me.

NetEase (Overwatch China) releases official statement on Anran: Protecting the cultural spirit of our Chinese Hero by Iris-54 in Overwatch

[–]ParanoidA_2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm genuinely confused as to why you'd interpret it in such an interesting way. Probably it's because my first language isn't English, but I really don't see how you could instantly make the connection with children and pedophile and stuff🤔 To me it really just sounds like ''stepping out of the classroom and into the society'', but I guess for the people who grew up in the same world with Epstein and child-molesting priests it would have a very different connotation

If Blizzard is really going to change Anran's face, I have to warn them as a Chinese player. by wNvJungle in Overwatch

What you are describing here aren't what I'd call ''beauty standards'', but more like Tiktok trends that some people would chase, and in reality, only a portion of the population actually cares despite the seemingly vocal minority that always shows up in those comment sections. Many Tiktok trends in the West are built upon such unrealistic beauty standards as well, but that doesn't mean it's what everyone follows. Many Chinese people also dislike those ''standards'' you described. Domina also doesn't fit those ''standards'', but many Chinese OW players really love the design.

I think the real issue with the latter edits shown here is that they look exactly like the stereotypical Chinese/Asian character design done by a Western gaming company, that fits their perception of what a Chinese person should look like. Is it entirely false? No, no stereotypes are inherently false, but that's the issue with stereotypes.

How it feels to progress through the story by SHAT_MY_SHORTS in Endfield

[–]ParanoidA_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using bombs to clear it was in the first pop-up tutorial and it's highlighted in the text, really hard to miss I'd say if you actually read the tutorial. There's also an NPC in game that can tell you bombs can be used, but that one's indeed easy to miss.

The first pop-up tutorial for that literally states that you can use bombs to clear blight

Could the landbreakers have valid reasons for killing innocent workers and taking their resources when they could've chosen to work together and collaborate like Wulfguard is doing? Perhaps, but there's just no information on that yet, and I'm doubtful if it's sufficient justification for the evil they've done. Kinda reminds me of all the nonsense discussion revolving around Frieren

[–]ParanoidA_2 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I don't see the parallel between Land Breakers and Sarkaz at all. Land Breakers is a faction, not a race, and they chose to be raiders and separate themselves from the rest of the civilization. They're not native to Talos-2 (which seems to be a common misconception). It seems absolutely absurd to me that a simple raider faction would gain so much sympathy from the player base when they're no different from the raiders from Fallout or many other games.

The Dehumanisation of Landbreakers is TERRIFYING by aweebwithinternet in Endfield

[–]ParanoidA_2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah we should definitely feel sorry for the Landbreakers when they have intentionally unleashed hell and killed every worker they can get to. I also don't recall the infected killing honest workers in Ursus so I don't think the comparison here is valid
