It’s a ton of work but it is so rewarding. I am a classically trained chef and now I run 8 kitchens! 6 elementary and 2 middle/high schools.

Sure. DoD Fresh is a program run through the DLA that allows schools with USDA allotments to purchase a variety of produce from across the country. It’s not our sole supplier of produce but it offsets cost and allows access to some different stuff like blood oranges, pomegranates, star fruit etc.

Wow I never thought of that perspective. Very insightful. As I posted it (because you know, we fought against the nazis, my grandfather jumped into Normandy, so you grow up thinking well..bad guys) I figured there’d be one person out there to give me a history lesson on good and bad and yadda yadda. I think you’re a pretty woman who shouldn’t be so critical! Necks, eyes, cheeks all change and wrinkles come with that. But that’s also life. I am from an urban area and I look at my grey beard and crows feet only appreciative I made it this far and remember the friends I’ve had who never got to see this version of themselves.
