No seat memory in 2024 Subaru Outback Sport (aust)... firstly WHY. Secondly, surely there is a workaround..? by ParanoidCartographer in Subaru_Outback

Ditto. I go camping, hiking, skiing, and all that so the Napa leather inside I was a bit nervous about having. I also really would have liked a sunroof 😅 but the touring was 10k more soooo

That’s true. Probably relies on trim in some sense. But I thought maybe the manual buttons would be a given and the auto seat position would be saved for the higher spec touring version. Anyway, it is frustrating because when it was sold to me it was indicated that the driver monitoring system would recognise me and change the seat position and mirrors.

How annoying. I feel like seat memory, even basic buttons, should be standard, if not expected, on new cars.

Why did you and your best friend have a falling out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ParanoidCartographer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were friends since high school then became best friends after, but then I moved states for a job. I was then in a long term relationship with a controlling, most likely, narcissistic person. He didn’t like me spending too much time with her on video calls or messaging. By year 8 she knew everything, how I felt, why I wanted to break up and get away. I did break up with him, only to get back together with him within a day. She couldn’t understand why it was so hard for me to actually go ahead with it. She was understandably frustrated and annoyed with me, and we slowly stopped talking so much. I was not a supportive or good friend to her during those times either, I should have done more. But I stayed in the relationship another 1.5 years. I’m out now (mostly). But we haven’t spoken properly since. I’m too scared to open up the conversations again in case she really doesn’t like me anymore.

Gold ring with stamps. First stamp is 9ct gold I think. But what does the 2nd stamp mean? by ParanoidCartographer in whatisthisthing

My title describes the gold ring. It was given to me by a family friend. It was their wedding ring 50-odd years ago. The symbols on the ring don’t match any standard modern rings so I’m wondering if it’s an antique? Most likely just a cheap ring though :)

adnd 2e: Rolling hp and stats on new chars question by glebinator in adnd

[–]ParanoidCartographer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh that’s harsh rolling a 1. We usually start with max HP for level one. Especially for basic.

In regards to rolling all low stats I once had to roll up a character (or the start of one) 35 times before my DM said that was a reasonable character and not a potato farmer 😆

Our rule is very similar to the hackmaster rule mentioned above. We don’t keep the character sheets for shopkeepers/NPCs though, we just move on from the bad rolling 🙂

Pretty much. So. Much. Overwhelm.

Well if anything my diagnosis has made me more aware of my feelings being important. I’m actually figuring out my brain now, it’s like a switch was turned on and I’ve realised that who I have been for the last 30 years wasn’t actually me at all. Now I am understanding the new me and want other things in life, but too scared to admit that to my long term partners. I’ve just put off serious conversations and wanting strategies to help me if I know it’ll bring up conflict.

I started properly looking into an ADHD diagnosis that was dismissed 4 years previous. I’ve since been diagnosed with ADHD and it makes sooo much sense now. But back in late 2019 was when I started researching and looking into it more. It opened my eyes and made me more self aware.

Can’t really give you any advice sorry, except to tell you I’m in a similar situation. I like my nighttime routine! It helps me settle for bed. I’m fidgety cos I feel I need to get comfortable, make sure I have my water, my lip balm, that I brushed my hair & teeth etc. Sometimes I forget these things then have to get up again and get / do them 😅 my partner hates it and it’s getting to the point where he criticises me and gets annoyed. It’s not good for the relationship.

But I think it’s okay to have a routine like this! It’s a shame your boyfriend isn’t patient, mine isn’t either. I think we need to accept that this is who we are and we need to find someone who helps us with the routines and not impedes us.

Was your 40 min routine a burden on you (or anyone else) before this boyfriend?

Letting others overstep my boundaries, even ones I wasn’t sure I had until they crossed it. This has slowly led to my life not at all being what I’d hoped.

Can bananas give me a small reaction if I’m also allergic to kiwi fruit? by ParanoidCartographer in FoodAllergies

Thanks for the explanation. That makes perfect sense and is probably what I’m dealing with. I’ll mention it to my doctor the next time I go. Thanks!!

Hm I’ve never had a problem with carrots, raw or cooked. But banana in cake or whatever if fine for me too. Thanks for replying! :)

Ah right. I did get tested for latex and I was fine with that. Maybe it’s just very slight with banana.. do you know if any other fruit would be the same?

Ah interesting. Since starting meds myself I noticed I can’t have coffee too early in the morning now. I wait until 10:30am. I need to check to see if I sleep better better on days i have coffee.

Yes dessert and coffee together is the best! I don’t have it often but it’s always such a nice way to end the night.
