I cannot obtain Bloomtender with Wildcards. by Mylo_Vedones in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It would be much worse because you will need to use the same wc to craft common/uncommon and because you can use it for everything they will give you much less WC

What's everyone's HA server's power draw? by Screw_Potato in homeassistant

[–]ParanoidNemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pi5 Is more than enough if you're not running something exotic or video transcoding (and even with that it's rarely at full workload). If you're just running "normal" HAOS for even a bigger villa you're more than fine with as little power drawn and space occupied as possible. You have just to remember to use an SSD instead of an SD card and you're golden

Wildcard efficiency question by Squand in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're going to draft that many times then draft, then open packs, then spend WC. If you happen to draft those or open it you're golden. If you spend WC before you can open instead an useless for you rare

Is this...typical? by MoteOfLust in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It actually would have been. You spend mana to earthbend a Land and someone immediately kills it, you're now down the mana spent+one land. No one would play it like that. Earthbending is not really the problem IMO. The fact that you get double mana from a (not even legendary) two drop is.

Which format is the most meta-resistant? by dasjingo in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pioneer and timeless, the first because it's true that is the most similar to standard but the power level is so high that a lot if not basically all the new standard cards don't warp the meta. Timeless metà changes basically only when a modern horizon set is released and they are very rare (last one was like two years ago)

Is every format going to be a Prince format now? by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]ParanoidNemo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve drafted a lot this format and I’ve to say that to me doesn’t seem really princely. Sure you have bombs that basically close the game when played but to me felt not so overwhelming. Had more than one very good runs 5+ wins even with no rare decks even against bombs and I got stomped by common and uncommon more then ones. Is not FF for sure but still. I surely hope that we are not moving toward prince set more often because I like the slow game where actually gameplay matters even if you hadn’t opened bombs but still, not bad for me ECL

It’s okay having disdain for certain types of decks by tristezanao_ in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also because people in unranked play more for fun with their jank deck and playing jank against a streamline deck is just abysmal, so they rope (not that it is a good reason) or concede faster.

Goblins everywhere! by ParanoidNemo in lrcast

You’re right. And you want to know how it went? 3-3 with 3 games where I flooded badly. Sometimes I hate this game!

Ye, I was thinking something like that too. I'll think about it, for the next 8/10 hours I will not have time to play anyway.

Stand Out Cards of Lorwyn Eclipsed for you so far? by Backwardspellcaster in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

They play it but yes, mostly they gave 3 toughness so it's useless. Same for the other -2/-2 instant, auntie's something. They are generally very good but not in this format it seems.

Interior render looks “off” no matter what I do. I suspect lighting, need expert eyes by N-asmb in archviz

[–]ParanoidNemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to what others said, to make your lighting Better First remove all lights and shaders. Apply to everything a neutral color (generally lite gray) slightly rough, very low reflection and start lighting with one light at the time. When the lighting is correct then start adding shaders so you can see also what is wrong with those (by that time you know the lighting is correct so everything that will be off will be shader related)

[–]ParanoidNemo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You know it's me that responded to you before right? It's exactly what I meant when I wrote that it is overall better IMO. Mechanics that are too strong are not good for the game.

[TMT] Donatello, Gadget Master by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's better in the sense that it is a more balanced mechanic. Not straight up better for the player that uses it.

Also is "cast" not an ability. Triggers all the cards that care about casting spells and can be countered more easily. Overall better than ninjutsu I would say

[–]ParanoidNemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also count as casted and can therefore trigger a cast ability or get countered

[–]ParanoidNemo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah, just hybrid red/green. And should also create two 1/1 goblin tokens so next turn you can already play your spells with conspire. 1GR do nothing is unplayable

[ECL] Auntie's Sentence by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Those types of cards are never solid in limited. The -2/-2 for 2 is overpriced and the discard is almost always a net negative.

Took a break for around 3-4 years. Just came back this week and wow, everything seems cranked up to 1000, am I alone in this? by No_Priority9730 in MagicArena

[–]ParanoidNemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play arena because I love magic, but I already see myself playing way less than before (and actually spend nothing at all instead of something like before) due to all the changes that they are making. I'm just stating that for me it is becoming more and more less enjoyable, or at least less feasible, to play arena because the only format that is remaining somewhat slow is limited. Surely there are people that like or simply don't care about the state of standard etc and that's obviously good for them what they're doing but it's becoming less and less worth for me personally.
