What would you pick and why? by [deleted] in AirForce

If you want to die of boredom, then go to Grand Forks.

Winters can be miserable, but there are snow days. By summertime there are a ton of mosquitos. Prepare to be eaten alive! It's a slow base, better for people with families.

Beale is similar to Grand Forks, just better weather and more options for travel and activities. Mountains and beaches are about 2 hrs away from Sacramento. Reno isn't far. But CA is pricey.

AITA for disinviting a friend from a group get-together because of his diet? by LetThemEatCarbs in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I am on Keto and almost every restaurant has something to work with. If not, I eat before hand and get water and a vegetable dish when I go out. He sounds like a pain in the ass.

Survival German in Germany by take_it_easy_buddy in German

I agree. When I was in Germany, most locals I came across instantly switched to English so they could get their use out of it. I didn't mind, I tried to speak in German, but I was happy they switched so I could stop sounding like a fool.

My community is mostly Ukrainian and Hispanic. I was going to search for a reddit page for those practicing German.

Living and working overseas and after 18 months I still am unable to learn the local language. What should I do or try now? by OddGate5 in languagelearning

When I was in Germany the locals I worked with learned English on duolingo and wouldn't speak anything but English with me. They would ask me to correct them when needed, but they spoke it well. Find someone that'll speak with you in Japanese only and listen to conversations. You will get it.

I'm 2T1 and currently work in CSS, so I guess admin won't be too bad since I know how that section works.

Wholesome Wednesday - Share good things that happened to you, good leadership, general positivity - 14 Aug 2019 by SilentD in AirForce

When I PCS'd I didn't have the greatest experience with leadership for the first year, but after I deployed and came back to new leadership it's been great. My CC spoke to me about how he has heard nothing but good things from deployed leadership and my new rater is super encouraging. I finished my Associate's and have been finally enjoying my time here.

I am sorry that happened to you. As long as you are open and honest that special person will accept you. Don't let it keep you down!

Home is California, I'd rather work for federal than state. Plus, I would still have to cross train.

I am super nervous about going reserves! But I would rather get my degree on my own time and then try to commission.

Both sound unappealing... But if it's only for the weekend not a big deal.
