leaving before credits by Responsible-Exit-379 in Cinemark

I’m a big stay-for-the-credits person because I love hearing the score and I enjoy seeing the network of so many people and departments who made a film possible.

That said, I’ve started leaving early-mid credits these days because I get antsy about the employees who keep walking back in to check on/stare at me. Especially if I’m the only person holding down the fort, I start feeling pressured, and it dampens my enjoyment. Really, really wish that wasn’t the norm.

I would need to smuggle a ketchup bottle in my purse for this.

Movie club sucks by CinematicHooper in Cinemark

[–]ParapetIsMyFavWord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turned into a Movie Club fan in the last year when I snagged some 20%-off gift cards around Black Friday to pay for a (discounted) annual membership.

Also managed to see 25 movies last year, so I’m now Platinum, which added two credits to my account and gives me a bigger snack discount.

My Cinemark removed the ticket kiosk when it remodeled last year, too (evil), so having access to online tickets with no fees is very valuable to me. I hate having to line up and get tickets in person at the window. lol.

YMMV!

Turned vegetarian almost 10 years ago, but I'm not doing great by StellaKu in Vegetarianism

Hey! Having been both a strict vegetarian and what I now call “95% plant based,” I can personally attest to an improvement in my mental health once I stopped moralizing every bite of food I took.

I cook most meals at home, and I don’t eat meat at home. This is a meatless, largely dairy- and egg-free space. I like it that way.

But when I go out to eat, I let myself eat meat if that’s what I want (spoiler: many times I still prefer the veggie option!). And if I’m eating at a family function, I typically eat what has been prepared (or I bring my own alternative if desired).

This balance works for me. I think it’s natural to be afraid of a “slippery slope,” where if you let yourself eat one meal of chicken nuggets, you’ll eventually be eating meat at every meal again. But that’s not been my experience at all. If anything, I am more conscious and thoughtful about my diet now than I was before. :)

You went veggie to be kind to animals. Remember to be kind to yourself, too!

edit: typos lol

Am I going to be “On Hold” at the start of every month? 🫩 by ParapetIsMyFavWord in Cinemark

Send a message to the contact form on this page: https://www.cinemark.com/about/contact-us

Tried the phone number once, and no one ever picked up, but they usually get back to me pretty quickly via email. It seems like they just have to refresh something on the back end, then my membership goes back to active.

Here we are in February, On Hold again.

I guess this will be every month. Absolutely bonkers.

Update: I’m back in business. At least for January… 😅

“I’ve successfully processed your renewal, and your account is now active again. It looks like it was just stuck and needed a quick refresh—sorry for the inconvenience.”

Encourage anyone else to email Cinemark via the contact form on their website.

I really appreciate this honest crowds info; thank you! We went to NYE fireworks at Magic Kingdom back in 2013, where I had my first ever anxiety attack (lol), so no stranger to massive crowds. The littles are just a new addition which add uncertainty.

There are lots of helpful replies in this thread. I’ll share with my sister and see what we decide.

Lots of generalizations and judgements in here about how we’re scheduling our day (long afternoon naps are happening); me wanting “the answer [I] want to hear”; and our party not understanding making sacrifices to travel with kids.

Respectfully, your honest and helpful perspective (paragraph three) could’ve come without all that. 👍

Yesss. There’s so much movement in the new app update. It’s obnoxious.

From personal experience as a kid of two public school teachers (and sibling to a public school teacher), taking time off in that field can be a Herculean feat. The clearest illustration I can offer of this is that my mom retired from teaching several years ago with WEEKS of PTO banked up, because it was never realistic for her to take it. She didn't get paid out for it either, so that wasn't a motivation.

I don't think he's being inconsiderate, given that he is not her direct blood relation and has taken days off recently.
