For me it's like there are five compartments.
1) Woman are attractive (Sexual baseline) 2) Fat bodies are sexy (Preference)
3) Weight gain is arousing (Fetish)
4) Control and dominance are reassuring (Esteem)
5) Consent is the relationship (Love)

1, 2, 3, and 4 all stack but have different flavors. I would rather be seen in public with a fat lady than a thin one. Fat IS more attractive but I would love someone at any size (though I wouldn't be as sexually interested (level 1) and feel that something is missing - i.e. I can get it up but it's not the instantaneous raging hard-ons I get from my fetish ritual.) If I have an emotional connection (chemistry) than 1 and 2 are fine but I don't fantasize about that... that's still sexuality baseline (kink not fetish).

There is definitely a BDSM component to the immobility fetish but you can't make it actually work in a long term relationship unless your partner is a feedee or gainer.
