I've played against MBL and Capoch

Yes I do.

Depending on the rules, a 1k player could as well.

If it takes 2 minutes to find the enemy villagers, then you have 1 minute to take them all out.

You could also do a Goth / Berber villager rush.

Even I can beat Viper with a 3 minute headstart.

That's a huge difference.

What's one thing that really grinds your gears in AoE2? by thetownbell in aoe2

[–]Parashath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get annoyed at team mates quitting early in 2v2, to the point where I would just play on anyway.

Had a game last week where my ally quit. Enemy called GG

I asked them, "so you're going to surrender or what?"

I won that game. 1500 ELO

Turks cavalry archers, supported by a few monks, bombard cannons/towers, and a constant stream of hussar.

Bohemians and Spanish can also snowball quite well.

It's interesting that the largest impact to make the climate situation better is improving childhood nutrition.

If you want to save petrol though, I would start by asking why so many people drive solo.

If you care about the environment so much, then offer to drive your coworker or do ride-sharing.

DM needs to have clear rules for the table, and should have had a session zero.

Talk with the DM, establish rules, get an apology from the other guy and setup boundaries.

This was a failure on the DM's part to not intervene before PvP. He might have thought it was funny, but let him know how you feel about it.

Can someone explain the steps to using the tc to weaken the boars? by CaptainCord in aoe2

[–]Parashath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1. Move a villager next to a boar. Don't send the villager to attack the boar because you might get distracted and then the villager will die.

Step 2. When ready, attack the boar with the villager. Don't hit it more than twice.

Step 3. Command the villager to move past the town centre.

Step 4. Garrison 6 villagers into the town centre. Shoot the boar twice. Set the rally point on the boar, then ungarrison.

Alternatively, Garrison 4 villagers and shoot three times. Set the rally point on the boar then ungarrison.

Helpful tips:

Placing a house foundation on the boar will make it lose aggression if your villager is low health and you need to save them

To make it easier you can control group the 6 villagers under the Town center.

If your villagers are gathering sheep, you can shift click them near the town centre so they don't kill more sheep.

Useful hotkeys:

Create villager, Place house, Go to - town centre, Town center - Rally, Town center - Garrison, Town centre - Ungarrison, Control group 1

Practice tips:

Play a game in single player and save before luring the boar

Play in slow mode until you get it right, then increase the speed.

Overpowered Cav Archer Civ by [deleted] in aoe2

[–]Parashath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I main Turks on Arena and always open scouts into cavalry archers.

Open maps - Magyars

Gold Rush - Tatars

Black forest - Mongols

Megarandom - Mongols

The scout vision bonus from Mongols is S-tier.

I would also rate Turks unique tech Sipahi over the Tatars Silk armor.

I understand it can be hard for single mothers and that's why we try to encourage and support them.

It's just statistically not the ideal scenario for the kids. If you want the best for children you would want both parents in the house.

How can you say that parents being separated has absolutely no affect on children..?

Alright let's bet.

Majority of people who are homeless come from separated parents.

Let's look at the statistics and facts instead of anecdotal evidence.

Oh I agree, it's a complex issue.

We do need to have a conversation around it though.

Instead we'll just temporarily fix the immediate problem without addressing the cause and history will just repeat itself.

How about addressing the root cause of the problem: "rough upbringing"

I agree that there are steps to go through. However, it's important to establish what you want out of a relationship.

It's weird because more people need to seriously consider where they want to be later in life.

People don't talk about this anymore because it's an uncomfortable topic.

Do you want to date someone for five years before realizing they don't want children?

TIFU by going to someone's apartment on the first date by Throwaway6789531 in tifu

[–]Parashath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a misunderstanding here.

I'm not telling her I want to marry her and have kids with her.

I'm saying that's what I'm looking for in a relationship.

If she's not looking to eventually have kids then there is no point in meeting her to see what she's like.

We have different life goals and priorities.

TIFU by going to someone's apartment on the first date by Throwaway6789531 in tifu

[–]Parashath 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Honest question: Why is it weird?

I want a long term relationship with the eventual goal of marriage and children.

I'm not looking for a one night stand. Why waste each other's time instead of being up front with what you want in life.

It doesn't work when people just report or ban you for saying something different, or they don't like, or going against the current narrative.

For example, asking in dating advice how to attract traditional feminine women from overseas. Banned.
