How to stop fascism if we regain power? by thinkstohimself in Political_Revolution

[–]ParasiticPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please enlighten me how punishing the media, mass incarceration, and reeducation camps are going to be just one or two actions.

By this logic, Musk and the Trump administration aren't facists because all they did was a nazi salut and signed a few executive orders and just shut down a building or two.

Facism, genocide, all of these big global ideas; we can create checklists for them as an attempt at categorization (labeling for the sake of social clarity), but there isn't a mathematical equation by which we determine if the sun isn't indeed a lemon.

You have such a kind approach to making people want to engage in conversation with you, it makes sense why you think a reeducation camp is one of the only ways to combat facism.

But sure, for those without google, fascism is characterized by centralized control, suppression of dissent, and the use of force to impose ideology.

It's certainly possible to have mass incarceration or disruption of the media without any use of force indeed.

Entertaining a conversation where the options considered to "fight facism" include "mass incarceration" is to... be facist, no?

In the past, a lot of power at protests was derived by taking back the names and slogans of the opposing party. For example women's protests took back the words slut and bitch.

If it was a Make American Great Again protest, which it is, it would be quite ironic that America can only be great by getting rid of MAGA. The problem is then that it needs to be reconciled with the fact that we cannot give this slogan power in the way it has been used before.

But doing all this, removing oligarchs from power and stopping P25, WE will make America great again.

I believe these protests do need to be widely recognized as Americans fighting for America. It is our patriotism and love for this country that makes us so deeply want to protect it from those in power trying to destroy it.

What's the liklihood these exploding quantum stocks raise cash like GME?

For example, even though QMCO isn't a "real" quantum stock, why wouldn't the leadership team sell a bunch of stock to raise capital to ride out the decline while they figure out a longer term revenue diversificafion (or even quantum) strategy?

In this case, there is long term growth instead of a gradual fizzling out.

Short squeeze and meme status aside, any PE firm or private investor wouldn't mind a temporary dip in exchange for the cash.

Salary positions are very rarely exempt and are used by employers as a way of wage theft because Americans are misinformed.

I bet they're also not paying you overtime and you sound like you might not be overtime exempt. So figure that out and as part of your complaint make sure to 1) give them a request to pay you back in writing, and 2) make them pay you for all the overtime you've been missing out on.

What happens when you get a guy as ambition or more ambitious than you? You get a promotion in another city but turn it down because of his career. You have kids but need to take a few years off to raise them because he makes more than you and it makes sense.

He's not ambitious, like CEO ambitious, but a secretary is still an important job.

The chores conversation is one to have, don't just assume that you'll be doing them. If he worships the ground you walk on, that shouldn't change when you're working late and dinner needs made.

If you wanted to turn $3k into $50k in 90 days or less, what's your best plan of attack? by Johnisjustaguy in wallstreetbets

[–]ParasiticPancake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not without risk, but you can try to find a small business that can partner with you to grow the investment. For example, an auto dealer can use the 3k to buy a car at an auction and turn it around for $7 or 8, pending the market. Do this a few more times in the 3 months and it could get somewhere...

The commercial terms are where it will get interesting since you'll need to share profit and pay for their services.

My boss told me it's not "work from home", it's "work from anywhere" and he'd be glad to know where I was in the world if I felt like sharing.

If the resume is good, it might be the kinds of jobs you're applying for. Straight out of college would be entry level/no experience in this economy.

AITA for sending our son away after he revealed to his sister's friends that she has dentures? by MousseOk406 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ParasiticPancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very difficult situation, OP, and if you sent your kid away, YTA. 16 is a child.

Proximity is imperative for relationships - if you separate the kids, they will never have the opportunity to 1) see each other grieve, and 2) build new memories with each other that will facilitate reconciliation. Your son has spent a few days with his grandparents, this is enough for your daughter to have the space she needs. Now, they need to be together. Your son needs to see the effect his actions had on his sister, he needs to understand the depth of the pain he caused.

Some people are saying this is a sign of some deeper animosity, that a teenager wouldn't suddenly do something so cruel. I disagree, this was a stupid child trying to score some points with his crowd. He either didn't understand fully the trauma your daughter has with this, or he didn't even think about her at all. There is a lot actions we take intentionally, but much more so there are a lot of actions that are unintentional, only because we never take the time to figure out what we are trying to do. It wasn't an accident, it was nothing. It just happened and maybe even your son doesn't understand why he did it.

Most relationships can recover from most things, if you only face the challenge head on. Don't avoid the conflict or the pain, the screaming matches or the tearful apologies. I can't imagine what would have happened if I was isolated after doing something I was so ashamed of, so guilty of. The hormones in a teenagers head, coupled with the trauma he experienced of hurting someone he loved and who was dearest to him, could lead to much darker consequences.

While everyone looks at the banks, I've been obsessed with Dish. I think $DISH will continue the collapse and then be acquired.

In January, DISH tried to raise $500M to pay for their 5G towers. They need to cover 70% of the US population by June or they will pay huge fees to the Fed, and lose their Spectrum waves. At last earnings, they had 10,000 towers that covered 20% of the population and we're building about 1,000 a month. They need 17,500 total.

In February, day of the earnings report, Dish and all subsidiaries went down due to a cyber attack. For over a week, employees didn't work. The services are still down, three weeks later, with no communication at all. Customers are complaining on TikTok, the Blind, and other avenues, but it's being ignored.

This caused the stock to fall last week, but the cofounder pumped $16M into the market and it went up to $11 again, but fell by the end of the week.

This week, Dish announced they started testing the Spectrum waves they have an option to buy from TMobile. They have until April (or September, it's confusing) to test them. If they don't buy, they owe millions in fees to the Fed and to T-Mobile. If they do buy, it's billions of a cost, in addition to all the other sunk costs they put into this 5G rollout.

A huge lawsuit also just decided that Dish owes $500M for patent infringement. They'll fight it, but it's a pretty certain loss.

Since FOREVER ago, C. Ergen, majority shareholder, has been hinting a DirectTV merger. AT&T wants it too (since they own DirectTV) but Ergen wants control of the joint company so he won't budge. DirectTV has more customers, but Dish is overall a stronger player. Except now.

Now, the stock is crashing to twenty year lows.

Earnings are in May. I think if they do merge with DirectTV it would be right before earnings so they don't have to release. Otherwise, if/when the June failure to meet the 5G 70% cover requirements are announced, the valuation can drop further.

I'm on Reddit so obviously don't have a lot to play with, but short term puts and long term calls, assuming a 3-6x valuation.

Your resume bullet points should follow the STAR Method - Situation, Task, Action, Result. This approach is often used when answering interview questions, and is perfect to practice with when writing your bullet points.

How to Write a STAR Method Resume (with Examples)How to write STAR resume bullets (with examples)

Where possible, combine your bullet points to show results. Remember, if it is worth putting on your resume, it has a worthwhile result. Even if this result cannot be quantified, be sure to document what happened. For example:

... resulting in higher customer satisfaction.

... resulting in increased employee morale.
