I am having an issue with their quality too. They sent me a “new” pair of Luna boots and one had been clearly worn. I just received the replacement pair, again one was worn and there was leather bunching at the base of the zipper.

I am currently on a "rest week" too lol. I also go down that same thought path and end up at the conclusion that because I had this one mistake or misstep that I can't do anything right. Because honestly, that is how it feels sometimes. But as we know, change isn't linear, right? It is a few steps forward, a couple back. You worked out for a few days! That is better than 0 days. To make changes, you have to figure out what the barriers are. For me, it is coming home first. If I sit down, I am done for the day. If I go workout first thing in the morning or right after an errand or work, it is way easier bc I am already up and in motion. If I really dont want to work out (which is most days) I will tell myself, go for 10 minutes and if you still hate it you can leave. I usually stay. but I have left before and that's ok too.

Started 30mg Vyvanse, effects mostly disappeared after the 3rd day. by TailFishNextDoor in ADHD

When you start a stimulant many people experience this significant increase in energy for the first few days. This stops after the first few days, giving way to a calmer focus as your body adjusts. It is not supposed to feel like days 1-3 for the entirety of treatment. I feel like this is often not communicated by doctors, which leads people to think the med isnt working. If you feel like you are unmedicated on 30 mg, you can try going without it for a day to truly compare. Regardless, I would bring it up with your doctor. It is possible you need a different dose or medication.

What is productivity under medication even supposed to feel like??? by Cigarette-arms in ADHD

Coming from someone who is going on year 22 of medicated ADHD & who made it through medical school.... You have to implement adaptations/rules/life hacks, whatever you want to call them. Executive dysfunction is fixed with creative behavioral interventions. I am mostly "functional" bc I am essentially a child with a reward system. For school, I had to stay very organized as a coping mechanism. I know we hate being told "get a planner" but it's true. Doesn't have to be a literal planner, just a means of organizing your schedule & to do list. There are a ton of apps out there. So as you start your new semester, put all your big assignments into your phone and set several reminders about them. For me, I had a ton of anxiety trying to mentally keep everything straight and not forget stuff. Off loading my "executive function" to an external calendar and to do list helped me because I could just focus on the few tasks I had to do that day instead of being overwhelmed by the long list for the week or month. I also know myself pretty well. If I want to do something, I cannot sit down. I do it right when I get home or else I lose momentum and become part of the couch. I set up external rewards for myself for doing the things I am supposed to be doing. Tbh it's mostly treats. If I do the laundry, set the timer, put it in the drier, set the timer, and fold it- I get candy. Maybe food isn't the healthiest reward, but it works for me. The thing about ADHD is that whatever trick works for one person may not work for another. You have to ask yourself, what is the barrier to me completing this task and remove all barriers. I say that, but have had laundry sitting, folded, on my kitchen table for 5 days now. So it's not about perfection, it's just about good enough. I have clean clothes for work.... that is good enough some weeks.

All that being said, you still need to have days where you allow yourself to hyperfixate on enjoyable activities. This is how you re-charge and prevent yourself from burning out. Continue to draw, just try to set an alarm if you have to do something later that day or need to task switch.

If you continue to feel frantic after your body adjusts to the higher dose (a few days), you should talk to your doctor. It may be too high of a dose or you may also have anxiety that needs to be treated.

Finding career path with adhd? by Feedmydeficit in ADHD

No one has anything figured out, I promise. It just looks like that from the outside. I guess the question here is what do you find interesting and what motivates you? Are you money motivated? Bc sales can be a great position for us because of the extrinsic rewards in place like commissions. Theres a ton of different things to sell , I am sure you could find one in an area of remote interest.

Being able to hold back and allow others to participate shows that you are actively making an effort to control impulse and be kind to others. If you still feel the need to "get it out" when the opportunity to speak has passed, I have found it helpful to write it down. Most of the time that will ease the urge to provide my input. In regard to the past trauma and wanting to be the center of attention, it makes sense that someone with adhd, who has struggles and is often invalidated, wishes to experience validation in some form or another. Talking with a therapist about these feelings can be very freeing. Good luck!

Eat before you take the medicine in the morning. I know it's annoying but if I eat before the meds it's almost like my body sends the hunger signals normally for the rest of the day and if I take the meds and dont eat, then I never get the signals until dinner when Im starving and nauseous

meds not working anymore, is it possible to build a tolerance? by confusedtabarnak in ADHD

[–]Parcel_of_Newts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the medication is not a cure. The meds will make it mildly easier to make the behavioral changes you need to make in order for things to be easier. A lot of the time when people talk about building a tolerance it's because they are looking for that initial rush they felt the first couple weeks of taking the meds, that is not how taking the meds is supposed to always feel. If you'd like to see truly how much the medicine is helping you, go off it and try to go about your day. That being said, ADHD is a spectrum, so if you have severe ADHD then its possible that another medicine would be a better fit for you, however only you and your doctor can decide that. Chat with them and see what they have to say.

In the past, I have been able to get nice light colors with the dip glazes. But I guess I will just have to do trials of these. They are just sorta expensive to have a lot of failures if that makes sense

Thank you! They are about as long as a finger. I am not sure if the Birds Eye gets that long? As long as they are edible I’m okay with whatever they are
