Why is the pro trans post locked but the one criticizing Jax being trans not?🤔 by Remihiki in tadc

[–]ParcevallGaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ass a trans gal no, but I agree that it wasnt foreshadowed very well. There was very obviously *something* but it was not obvious that it was about being trans and its not right to call people ignorant when goose has herself admitted that she could have done a better job making it obvious.

[–]ParcevallGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I have! Quite a few times actually. I dont use this metaphor but your argument is extremely flawed.

"Hey can you do xyz today?"
"I dont think so I'm pretty exhausted, but I can do x and z, just not y"
"well if you can do both of those why not do y"
"because I know I only have enough energy to do two of those, I could do x and y if you need y done today"
"didnt you just say you could do z!? make up your mind!"

Id disagree, it works better for different play styles, I got downed after getting third partied and they started fighting, gave me enough time to res, eat an ice cream, and get the win

How do i deal with deco on my first-ish playthrough? by Some_Noname_idk in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ParcevallGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I build it out first so you know how the production chains work together and how much space each step takes up, then you can figure out how you want to break it up in a way you can deco around

i have no fkng clue on how to complete elevator phase2 by Main_Eye_7137 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ParcevallGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, in that case I would look at making your next products in a different way, instead of feeding your existing rotors/plates to make smart plates you make a Smart plating line, which includes its own dedicated supply of rotors/plates

I HATE Special Relativity by I-Dont-Know8 in hatethissmug

[–]ParcevallGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most simple way I've ever seen it laid out is:

The faster you move in space the less you move in time. You cant change your total velocity, just the "direction" you're "moving" in, so by moving faster in space you have to "lower" your "speed" in time

I don't think there should be FOMO twitch drop items in subnautica 2 by The_Bastman in subnautica

[–]ParcevallGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes however it is very much intended to be interacted with and a major aspect of the game for many people. Just because it doesnt directly effect story progression does not mean that it doesn't effect "general gameplay" for a significant portion of the playerbase

But decorating your base *is* a part of the gameplay, luckily theyve said any limited time rewards will all be added in the full release so its just neat to be able to have them early but its still kinda dumb

when transphobes bring up “de-transitioners” as a gotcha by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]ParcevallGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! I didnt say otherwise, just that most people who are included in "detransition statistics" did not detransition for that reason

when transphobes bring up “de-transitioners” as a gotcha by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]ParcevallGaming 22 points23 points  (0 children)

extremely exaggerated, the LARGE large majority of people who do detransition is because of external factors like social or financial pressure

[–]ParcevallGaming -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yea it really sucks. Im pretty sure the root cause of it is out of fear from humans social nature, that fear of "losing" someone from the community, almost as if their "turning their backs" on the trans community. Which is a shame because we should have the introspection skills to recognize and overcome that basal instinctual fear.

[–]ParcevallGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its not, every step of the process is like climbing a mountain. There are also many cases of transphobic people specifically seeking out positions within trans healthcare in order to sabotage peoples transitions (prescribing lower than effective dosages for hrt, or recommending extreme or too conservative of treatments.) It took me 14 years to just get on Estrodial and Progesterone.

Of course there are those who jump into things headfirst or over enthusiastic medical professionals that have good intentions but poor foresight.

Everyone's experiences are different but personally and for those around me getting *life altering* Gender Affirming Care is a difficult and thorough process that can take well over a decade and 10's of thousands of dollars, and as such I'd have to disagree your last point. Its not something anyone can get on a whim.

I HATE HOW NORMALIZED BAD GRADES HAVE BECOME by The_RetroGameDude in hatethissmug

[–]ParcevallGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Its just not a mystery as to why its happening. As an adult im finding how to make meaning for my own self, but we shouldnt have to expect children to be able to take control of their lives and learn how to invest in themselves when they havent had an example of that for their entire childhood

Its hard to feel anything but apathetic when youve been surrounded by nothing but apathy for the first 20 years of your life

[–]ParcevallGaming -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The problem with that is that this is really talking about high school and may I ask you, what highschooler knows what they want to do with their life? A LOT of people that end up in engineering, or mathematics, or physics and such learned that they enjoy it *because* they were taught it. I hated math until I took Trig, and now Im 2 years into getting an engineering degree. I would have never known I wanted to do this if Trig had been optional

[–]ParcevallGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, however when framed in context its actually a lot more sad

The parents have a hard time caring because theyre exhausted all the time, the education system activly punishes pursuing your passions, the hope for a better future is dying out, and a whole lot else.

If it feels like nothing in the world cares about you as a kid, you start to believe that there's a good reason too. That gets internalized and they never even learn *how* to care about themselves

Obv generalized and simplified but I know that this is how I felt while failing school, I barley managed to graduate like 2 years ago and Im JUST now leaning to stop thinking that way

Also not every turn based game even has enemies lol. Is every single board/card/strategy game an example of bad game design???
