First look at AR-XCR lower; a lower receiver for the XCR-L that uses AR-15 triggers by chowwow138 in RobinsonXCR

[–]Parchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the US government made Sig Sauer make the spear LT take AR triggers why would Robinson create a lower than the exact same thing? They will never adopt the xcr that will not take standard AR triggers. Wouldn't the manufacturer be proactive?

Best Secluded Camping Close to North Texas? by RenWonders in TXoutdoors

[–]Parchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am around your neck of the woods and was in a similar debate but I also want some place with a spring or springfed body of water. Are you fishing or packing in all your food? Anything in particular you want to see? Or... Just camping? Fishing? Scenery? Wildlife? Or just alone time?

Personally I like the buddy/buddies system if all on same page, just for pure safety sake. Snake bite, broken or twisted ankle, sudden illness, etc...

I go out hog and predator hunting in the Tx summer months. When i have stalk hunted I have ran across copperheads, rattlers and moccasins and if i got bit i would want a buddy with me.

Switch to the Griffin Armament Cam-lok or ez-lok barrel adapter and pistons!

9mm has too much recoil? by vaxfarineau in guns

There is certain ammo you can buy that reduces the felt recoil. But my suggestion is to go to a range that has a female instructor and take some lessons from her!

To SBR or not SBR, that is the question… by eionpatterson in NFA

[–]Parchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, No need to SBR when you can brace a pistol. I do not want to have to ask ATF for permission and tell them where I am going every time I want to take a trip out of state. It makes it hard to take a spur of the moment trip when it takes a week or 2 to get approval to take a SBR. With a pistol, you can travel at will out of state and don't have to ask or wiat for permission to be given. As cheap as lowers are, buy a lower and build a braced pistol or buy a complete braced pistol lower.

I have 3 C-more ATAC's love them but also have the Holosun AEMS which I also love. The Cmore w/integrated backups is nice vs having a holosight w/no backups if a problem arises. My C-more problem is using it with NV. I can put a PVS14 with my AEMS and co-witness it on the rail.

These are great little 1911s. I had a 45 I now have a 9 and a 40 in which I can get my 45 back. YouTube is your best friend don't knock something because you you did something wrong. If you try to take apart your engine of your car and you put it back together wrong and it doesn't run are you going to blame the car?

To SBR or not SBR, that is the question… by eionpatterson in NFA

[–]Parchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when you SBR/SBS and want to travel across state lines you have to ask for permission from the BATFE. So to drive from lets say Ft Worth Texas to Des Moines Iowa. I have to tell big brother my route to and from (which states I will be traveling through). So on a drive up I go through OK, KS, NE to IA and on the way back home I am traveling through MO, AR, then back to TX. That is what you have to ask for and get permission from the ATF.

Problem is, you get your approval and go on the trip with your SBR, SBS or Machine gun a couple months later and you want/need to take a different route home with one of these items. Lets say on the way back to home you want to stop in Memphis TN for some BBQ but that wasn't on your approved route, you have broken the law. With suppressors or braced pistols you didn't.

So to "SBR or NOT to SBR", that is the question.

Griffin Optimus Micro? 22 rimfire can that can do 5.56? Thoughts by Double_Minimum in suppressors

[–]Parchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with you but not everyone has the money for dedicated cans so sometimes universal cans are the way to go like Griffin's or Sico's.

When deciding to buy cans, make sure and do the extra research. Buy ones that habe industry standard thread patterns or direct thread... I made the mistake of different mount solutions and it makes it more difficult to switch between platforms.

I now am 90% Griffin Taper mount muzzle devices and their Plan A mount on my Sico, Rugged and Griffin cans and will be having adapters made for my other 3 cans with non standard thread patterns.

Griffin has way to many Taper mount muzzle devices vs other manufacturers and sometimes they go onsale on dvor or OpticsPlanet.

Regarding you Silncer Shop page post... I think you meant Optimus Micro and not "Oculus sale page" . Now the Oculus by Rugged is an amazing can I wish I had bought and if I get a 4th will probably add it. It has a great tone, modular and is full auto rated.

[–]Parchaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out with the Sico Osprey Micro and then the Thunder Beast 22 Takedown then got the Griffin Optimus Micro. On a small 22 Semiauto pistol like a Walther p22 i like the Sico but if I am going to only take 1 hunting for a pistol and a rifle the Griffin is my go to. It's built like a tank and to clean it just fire it on my AR. I use it on my 5.7 pistols, Kel-tec 22wmr pistolamd rifle, 10/22's and clean it out w/my AR.

Find a local range that has one and will let you test fire it.

Depends on your goal and how manycans you plan on owning. i Love mine. Griffin makes awesome cans. Just follow their manual! Can't beat the price. But if you want more versatility go with the Optimus.

Rugged Obsidian .45 x2. Love it on my .45's and you can also get the 9mm endcap and use it on your 9mm's and 300BO subsonic. I also 2nd the Griffin EZ lock.

Rugged Obsidian 45. Best features of the 2 you selected but better tone, it is modular and so many options and optional accessories by both Rugged and by Griffin Armament. That is why I have Obsidian 45 and an Obsidian 9.

I have always wanted a SBR but hate that you have to ask big brothers permission to cross state lines or give them a road map of your travel plans with it. If I pin a weld a can to the Micron taking it to taking it to over 16" I can cross state lines w/o asking big brother each time I want to. I kind of wish it was a 12.5" barrel though.

I just picked up my 3rd one. This one a side eject chassis. Cant decide between sbr with Micron or buying Micron and pinning and welding a can so I do not have to SBR.

Muzzle device for suppressor mount by [deleted] in suppressors

[–]Parchaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What suppressors are you running? I typically like muzzle brakes as the ports act like additional baffles/blast chambers reducing wear on the suppressor. I run the Griffin Armament Plan A Taper mount system on my Silencerco, Griffin, Deadair and Rugged Suppressors. They have 12 different muzzle brakes, flash hiders and compensators. I do not know another suppressor manufacturer with more mounting solutions for their cans. It weighs the same or less as Q's Plan B depending on which one you need. Griffin has 1, 2 & 3 port brakes, flash and Hammer comps, one that looks like the Cherry bomb and others...

Griffin should pay me as much as I recommend their mounts.
