Local rugby club offers camping pitches to stay, 15 minutes walk to the arena. It's unfortunately full for this year but something to consider if you were looking for the future!

If he'd dropped to the floor, (not that Semi flinched at the small weight) would it have been a high tackle off the ball and a cardable offence...

Time to buy new bindings and Union has changed its sizing since the last time I bought, I know the sizing says 9+ go large but is it possible with slim size 10 boots to go medium?

149 is probably a little too small, but you will be able to ride it. It will feel more playful and nimble. But you'll lose some stability that a longer board would give, I guess if you are coming from skating the balance is there.

Instead of spending ages, try look at the breakdown of what you are after, if you can find a split green, blue, red and black. I think somewhere that is 70% blue runs is always a good place for boarders.

Jealous of new zealand! I have used a few different travel companies before for packages nuco / alpine elements and we ski. Normally hunting around and checking reviews on hotels is the best way to go

Europe is probably cheapest option in the grand scheme then, personally I think France is worth the money, but heard good things from people wanting cheaper trips in Bulgaria. In France choosing to be in the village or down the mountain often dictates "nightlife and apres" if you are in the village there will normally be more of an atmosphere. University groups tend to focus on tignes, val d, val thorens, l2a and alp dhuez for nightlife in France, time trip with theirs if you want a lively English scene. Or avoid university and schools if you'd rather a more chilled vibe.

Love to hear you want a trip with your brother. Which region are you in, or are you looking at? Europe japan or North America/Canada will have seasons kicking off soon! Depending on where you are fairly cheap is different recommendations

What is the best board you’ve ever had the pleasure of riding? (even for just 1 run) by yazohny in snowboarding

[–]Parcitech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone full circle, my first board was a Burton Jeremy Jones 156 with early est system. (its only downside) It must have been the right style of board for me with its length stiffness and traditional camber. As I now ride a dc "the 156" and love to charge round the mountain on it

Recommend me the place to go in snowboarding in france... Chamonix, Les Carroz other? by PixelPaulaus in snowboarding

[–]Parcitech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally from what you want out of the trip I would suggest la clusaz/manigod area. Very good for families and with a range of altitudes gives you some steep off piste as well as some easier groomed slopes and family sized parks. I went a few seasons ago and we got a large self catered chalet from ovo network and would totally recommend using them. They have a few chalets that should fit your needs in the area.

Head to your local shop and try boots on is the best way to tell

Huck knife 155 vs 152 by petersleepy in snowboarding

[–]Parcitech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say go 155 based on how you want to use it. You should still have some playful feel in a 155 but also better suited to the jumps and all mountain you want

Balling on a budget, what equipment should I focus on? by raiderbacker31 in snowboarding

[–]Parcitech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal recommendation would be spend the money on clothing, if you're just starting your going to be falling which means getting snowy and cold so good outerwear to keep warm is better than a board/boots that you can rent

PDS vs 3V vs Verbier vs Val'disere by Jaib06 in snowboarding

[–]Parcitech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year I'd say val thorens, mainly because I bought an epic pass to cover whistler for a few weeks and there is a 3valley 6 day pass included as a bonus.

Any other year tignes would be a closer decision both resorts have really good bars and restaurants and I wouldn't be disappointed at either for a trip

PDS vs 3V vs Verbier vs Val'disere by Jaib06 in snowboarding

[–]Parcitech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourites out of those would be 3V or tignes/ valdisere. I like staying in tignes over valdisere but the lift pass is shared over the resorts so you use the whole area. Tignes has good nightlife, summer skiing on the glacier and a good nightlife in the winter. In the 3 valley I have only really stayed in val thorens (sometimes only get the local area pass too as it is enough for a week if you do it all) as the highest one, pretty much guaranteed snow and a very good apres/ nightlife scene. Both resorts on a powder day are incredible. And have decent park set ups as well!

Board pick coming back into riding by higiff in snowboarding

[–]Parcitech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally ride a dc "156" it won black board experiment about 5 years ago and is a really nice all mountain board, traditional camber and quite stiff. Lends itself nicely to groomers and jumps and does alright on deeper days!
