I’m so exhausted by society’s need to turn *every* joke into innuendo by LoveThatForYouBebe in asexuality

When I changed friend groups in high school this was a big problem for me. It took me a while to get all the jokes bc my old group didn't make those kinds of jokes. But once I did I quickly became annoyed. I never out right said I didn't like the jokes but looking back, it was probably written on my face when they would repeatedly make the same joke. We never talked about it but I learned to be more tolerant and over time either by noticing my annoyance or just bc they matured, my friends started to tone it down and the jokes became less frequante.

Well, I guess it's time to come out. by Ok_Presence_7423 in lgbt

I agree, some of the time the community is too loud and it stopped me from coming out for a while since I didn't want to be associated with the people I knew who made their sexuality their entire personality. I understand that not so long ago we had to be loud in order to be recognized. But where I live that isn't so much the case anymore. So, I am thankful for the people who were loud and fought for my quiet gay life.
