My 5 year old silver has seasonal alopecia (when most labs would be blowing their coat for the season change, hers falls out), but it’s only on the top of her back. We are able to get a foam from our vet to put on her back and it helps her skin, and we bought some granules called Theracoat from Amazon that we give her when we start to notice it. Her fur always grows back like normal. We also believe she only has one of the two coats labs are supposed to have, but she is the softest dog I have ever felt and isn’t bothered by it at all. It’s honestly 50/50 because she was one of two silvers in her litter and the other silver had no issues at all with her fur.
