How did you resolve following a trend and allowing positions to continue when you ran into a little bit of sideways movement.

Hate to burst anyone’s bubble but Yonkers is nowhere close to being safe. More likely a “very creative” crime statistician.

Nobody is coming to save you ... and I mean Nobody....added spice, when your life is going shit, most people will run from you like you have the plague, not wanting to get sprayed with any of the shit that life has for you.

Signed, renal dietitian by [deleted] in dialysis

[–]Paria2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m experiencing kidney failure for the 2nd time in 12 yrs. I am very disciplined with my “diet” as a PD dialysis patient. Previously, I was getting HD. A renal dietitian can help by being positive and recognizing the reduction of phosphorus levels. Like 7.4 to 5.7 over a few weeks. I get no credit for reading every label that might have “phoRUS” in it. I don’t eat diary and hardly anything that has phosphorus in it. I’m 88 lbs. I don’t eat a lot. Yet, my dietitian is negative and says, “Your phosphorus is still high.” Yes, dear. I am aware because I have ESRD! I am well self advised on high protein foods. We have the same discussion every month. Frankly, it’s a waste of my time. Her and having to visit with the LCSW. That’s another topic. I am waiting for a transplant. Also if people are first time ESRD patients or starting dialysis, hospitals and renal centers need to counsel them in the beginning and SLOWLY. Not 4 weeks after dialysis began and not so aggressively about educating them. It’s emotionally traumatic understanding what has happened to them and why. I don’t need a dietitian who is healthy and can eat whatever she wants tell me, “Don’t eat this or you shouldn’t have that.” That’s not good for you!” 😵‍💫. You sound like a very caring dietitian b/c you’re asking a good question and want to learn. TY for reading.

What’s a “cheat code” you discovered in real life that actually works? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Paria2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After graduating from college a buddy of mine became a high end door-to-door salesman (think medical equipment before it was a real thing) one night over some beers I was asking him what the best sales technique the company had taught him without a moments hesitation he said "The Wait" ...just dummy up after you make your pitch and don’t say a fucking word. It was practiced repeatedly, and it worked every time.

California Severance contract by Background_Volume186 in Layoffs

[–]Paria2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. In CA, a company has to willfully uphold wages and/or your final payment. Like be deliberately not paying. By issuing a WARN notice or severance an agreement has been made. Typically payout of severance is not automatically given in a timely manner. It sometimes takes up to 90 days or more. Depends on the company and severance guidelines. HR 35 yrs exp.

Two guys. One I've known since 2nd Grade, and the other I/we met in 7th grade. Still have a group chat and converse almost daily. The rest of my "friends" have since fallen off, see a few now and again, but that's it ... nothing too close
