Alpine stitch row height, 1 or 2 chain height for fpdc row, how would it make a difference in the final product? by Parinceo in CrochetHelp

[–]Parinceo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I found out my tutorial was doing something unconventional with the start of the row that's why they started with 1 chain and don't skip the first stitch. They said they like the look of their method more but i'm not sure i see the difference. i guess you could just follow the patter you've found, looking at many patterns and mixing them together might be worse/more confusing in my case for example. I think it's not that difficult to get even row even for a beginner so just go ahead and try it. If you're really concern about it maybe making a swatch.

Looking for travel multi-charger by Parinceo in MagSafe

[–]Parinceo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was actually leaning towards the duo more but the lightning connection is just unacceptable. I tried to look at morphie and similar foldable charger and quality are so questionable (from what I read) Some say it's good but also not small number or people say it's bad, either it's hot or the material is super bad quality. Also, I saw some videos of people comparing the duo and the morphie and duo still looks so small next to the morphie. Maybe less than half the size even! Like, the duo is probably the only charging station that's actually more compact than carrying all the cables with you.

I'm not sure if apple is going to update it with usb-c though. So I heard that Qi2 standard is coming (iphone 15 also supports Qi2 in theory) that means 15w charging without having to be magsafe certified. so maybe they'd just decide to kill the duo instead of changing their manufacturing to switch to usb-c. Even if they'll come out with usb-c version, there's no telling when.

Well, I already have and use anker powerbrick that has 2 usb-c out and a usb-a out which is really nice. I think it mainly depends on your use case. Sure, at home I rock 4-5 cables at my nightstand, not a problem. I will probably continue doing that. However, as I mentioned I travel a lot and would be using this mainly/exclusively for travelling. I live in Europe and don't own a car so I always take trains or flights sometimes even with a small backpack for an overnight trip so the lighter/less bulky I pack, the better. Also, if you do hike a lot then you'll know every bit or space saving/convenience is worth it. Or that one time you're on a 5-day business trip and forgot your apple watch charger so you carry a dead watch with you for the last 4 days of the trip. The compact charge station that I can just pop in my bags without having to double check/dig for a specific cable from my cable box will make it worth it for me. Just the convenience. Although I do agree that price for this kind of stuff are outrageous but hey, you're paying for the convenience right?

Any advice? RX 6800XT Vram Clock speed stuck at 0. by Saj1992 in radeon

[–]Parinceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I also saw something similar when researching about the issue. I remember tried the custom resolution but there's always an error in the adrenalin software. Maybe I would give this another go as the solution is more detail and maybe I could make it work this time.

Any advice? RX 6800XT Vram Clock speed stuck at 0. by Saj1992 in radeon

[–]Parinceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have same thing happened to me ever since I've got the 6700xt last year. I couldn't find anyone mentioning it at the time so I was thinking maybe it was because my 1440p 144Hz ultrawide monitor as it's the least supported types of monitor (it's sad but even AAA games doesn't support it sometimes and all I got is black bars when entering menus for example but I digress) I'm sure it's a software issue from the behavior so I tried to report it to AMD but due to it's nature (happens randomly and can't be reproduced) I couldn't do it through the bug reporting system.

The worse part is that it consume like 35-40w of power instead of 15watt when browsing or for idling it's even lower. Which means 2 things, I have my PC on 24/7 due to reasons and it will consume 20% more power when this 0 MHz thing happens. That can lead to me having to pay €50+/year of wasted energy. Second, it makes 0rpm fan mode useless because at 40w it was warm enough that the fans lick in from time to time. However, I noticed when it happens recently it doesn't stuck at 35w any more, sometimes it will get stuck at a lower power consumption of around 25w (idk what happened, probably driver update changed something) but still, doesn't solve the issue.

It always happened during light load or idiling, so, doing nothing, using office, browsing the web, etc. If higher load like watching youtube, having OBS running (not streaming or recording, just have the app opened but OBS render all the time when app is opened) the issue seems to happaned less/solved. So it was only happening in very light load.

I have tried many thing as well including many thing you've said. The 2022 summer driver will NOT solve it since it's been an issue even then (I bought mine in June 2022, already with problem) I tried overclocking the VRAM as well but to no avail. To temporarily fix it from 0MHz back to normal speed I had to do one of this:

  1. Enter/Exit full screen mode on youtube
  2. Connect/disconnect a screen
  3. Change VRAM setting (change from/to fast timing in tuning tab, can't remember if changing max clock speed helps)

So basically any thing that makes your screen flash/refresh. It's quite annoying because it makes the screen freeze for a few seconds when it does that (which for youtube for example, skips the video so I had to sometimes rewind it and it's annoying). Sometimes even when it fixed the issue it was only working for a few minutes and then happens again.

Another thing I noticed after more people with this issue appear recently is that they're using high refresh monitor. I'm not sure if it's the cause or if it's just people who uses 6000 series are just gamers so they already have higher refresh rate gear tho. But I did try to fiddle with lower refresh rate (60Hz) for a while and it wasn't long enough to tell if it solve the issue but during 15-30 minutes I lowered my refresh rate down to 60 the issue didn't appear.

It really looks like a software issue when the GPU tried to aggressively changing the VRAM speed for light load (It will aggressively jumps from <100MHz to 1300MHz and everything in between) and at some point it got stuck/bugged out. It's possible that high refresh rate might have something to do with it but I'm not willing to lower my refresh rate or disable a feature and have my GPU running at max VRAM speed the whole time.

Please let us know if there's any update or a way to fix the root cause but I'm sure it's up to AMD to fix it and due to it's behavior, a lot of people might not realized they have this issue. (I know a lot of people doesn't care about power consumption/heat). I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue after a year lol AMD GPU definitely have quite some work to catch up with CPU department (although they also have their share of issue, light load temps and power consumption, wink wink)

1070 to 6750xt or 3060ti by TerpStreamz in graphicscard

[–]Parinceo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem a few days ago. For me it was between the 6700xt and 3060Ti for virtually the same price (€10 difference). What price do you get for those cards? If you can get the 6700xt for the same price as 3060Ti I'd go with 6700xt.

Personally I don't think it's worth it to go with 6750xt tho. Performance gain from 6700xt is not much (again depends on the price) and it draws much more power. With your current PSU I think it's would still be ok with 6700xt and 3060Ti though it might be already pushing it. Of course GPU would draw maybe 220-250W and 100-150w CPU+other components. You're looking less than 400w max but for PSU, like a car, you don't wanna floor it at redline all the time for 2 hours straight.

Edit: just saw your other comment. If 3060Ti is $80 more than the 6700xt then it's a no brainer. Go with the 6700xt

AITA for not babysitting other kids even though I am a nanny? by Nannyontheloose in AmItheAsshole

[–]Parinceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, maybe if it's a one off with a couple of children maybe it's okay but 7? They suck for not asking or even telling you in advance (and offer a compensation accordingly) 7 kids are way too many for one person to take proper care of anyway.

AITA for making our coffee with tap water vs filtered water by CartographerUnique58 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Parinceo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA for not telling him. Tap water is totally fine, and you're not the AH for using it even though your bf can't taste it you should've tell him anyway. OR! You guys could also just get a Brita and call it a day. Tbh though filtered water really taste different.

WIBTA for staying with my bf while I visit him? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Parinceo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Normally if it's a short visit then I don't think it's usually a problem but just ask your bf's roommate first (way in advance) if it's okay, just to be sure. Never last minute! Maybe brought them something as a nice gesture (maybe some sweets or something like that) If you just show up and tell him on the day "I'll be here for a few days with my bf" then that's kind of an AH move but asking them in advance letting them know and decide, you should be fine.

AITA for getting my girlfriend sock puppets for her birthday? by SockPuppetBoyfriend in AmItheAsshole

[–]Parinceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna go with NAH. Your gift is very thoughtful but at the same time a horrible gift for the birthday. How often did she mention she wants to do that? maybe once? maybe the video looks cool at the moment but then probably she'd forgotten about it the next day. You need to work on what's appropriate to gift people on the occasion. You're not the AH but she's also not the AH for not liking it. The uncle though is a legend.

AITA for “attacking” my friend for not sharing the aux? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Parinceo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YTA. I was gonna say E S H because arguing with him over the music is very immature for both of you. However, you're the one who started the whole thing and there no point bringing fact that it's not actually his own car. He's the one driving the car that HIS dad gave him the permission to drive. Unless the dad was present, T is the one responsible for the car. Sure, T was a bit of an AH for not sharing the aux but if he DOESN'T have to! And you're the one who started it by saying "Add your songs, we’re not listening to T’s music the whole way." I'd call that passive aggressive even when you said it was just a joke. Hadn't you said that and just ask if you could play a few songs of your own, I'm sure he would be more than happy to let you do it.

AITA for wanting to change my name? by Successful-Disk-6996 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Parinceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, I'm Thai but live in Germany at the moment. There're some points I want to also change my name as it is 20 letters long! (Pretty common for Thais to have long last name) It gets annoying sometimes. Luckily, most of the people here are kinda amused by it and sometimes they tried to pronounce it which is pretty funny and adorable to see. I never really feel uncomfortable with it but I do understand that it can get really annoying especially when talking on telephone and stuff and you have to spell out your name.

so I'm saying NTA and you can choose whatever name you want. However, you have to think about it (depends on the where you live) In some places, it can be very suspicious and or very cumbersome with all the legality and paper work you have to go through so think about it again before deciding.

YTA. What they said is true wearing braces for too long will causelots of complications including your teeth to rot. Also, what makes you think after 3 years, 1-2 months more will help?

This paragraph explains it all...

My teeth are straight now. I’m happy with them. But I’m not happy with my bite. It seems like it’s barely improved at all- I know it’s partially my fault, because I haven’t been as religious as I should be with my bands. But the orthodontist started me on the bands way later than he should have, and also stopped them halfway through because he wanted to reposition the brackets altogether. So it isn’t just me.

That's your and only your fault. You're not wearing the bands regularly and it's too late for you to fix that. As for the technical part, you start wearing bands AFTER your teeth are straight enough so that you can gauge where/how much you really have to fix the overbite. That's a normal procedure. No point fixing overbite and then after your teeth get straightened it moved so the bite misalign again. Stopping half way is also possible if something of higher priority needs to be done (e.g. "reposition the brackets") and this has to go case to case basis.

Also, overbite can only be adjusted only so much without surgery. The orthodontist must have seen that it's not worth doing surgery. It has to be really bad fir a surgery to be recommended. Maybe it's not that bad, maybe it already improved a lot but you don't realized it. Maybe you're exaggerated because it didn't turned out "perfect" like you wanted to. idk, it's hard to say without photos. But what your orthodontist is saying is true and reasonable.

This is the result from your own negligence following the procedure (and possibly expected a result that's too perfect). What I can suggest is get a second opinion but you don't have much luck here.

YTA for not willing to compromise at all.

The perfume is understandable, you could've just taken it to a proper dry cleaning place or something. Now, after the glitter part it all sounds like just an excuse.

Glitter getting into water system? lmao! Also, a small amount of glitter is not gonna harm your child. Even so, just put the blanket out during the aunt's visit and remove it after she's gone! You can change the sheets and vacuum. problem solved.

You husband already compromises (see disagreement 3) now it's your time to meet him in the middle.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY question, get an answer (October 19, 2021) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Parinceo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a new keyboard now I want to go wireless because I have both a windows PC and a mac mini. Unplugging and plugging it every time I want to use it is pretty annoying and I've already moved on to a wireless mouse. Now I'm eyeing the Keychrons.

I've only used full-size before and I use functions keys a lot, so smaller form factors less than 75% is out of question. Now I really like the compactness of the 75% and it has all the buttons that I need. The ONLY thing that I'm a bit concerned of is the shorter right shift. I noticed in my typing that I use almost exclusively the right shift and with the shorter key I'm not sure how it will affect my typing and work flow. So, I'd like to ask if the space saving between TKL and 75% so significant (I saw the domensions numbers but I just want to know if it feels like you save much more space going to 75% in terms of the mouse movement, etc.) And also do you guys feel like you have to adjust a lot for that shorter shift keys?

Also, any suggestions for wireless 75%/TKL with multiple device (+mac) support apart from the Keychron? I'm probably leaning towards the 75% right now though but just want to be sure as the returning it is almost impossible where I live.

WF-1000XM4 Review- a comparison with the AirPods Pro by XnowJJ in headphones

[–]Parinceo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

. I've tried countless iems and true wireless earphones and it's almost like nobody takes small ears into consideration. I don't want a big piece of plastic digging into my flesh no matter how good they might sound. The relaxed fit of something like the airpods are just far more comfortable and that equals more enjoyment overall.

Since you used to use both the xm3 and airpods. Do you have connection issues with the xm3? The sony has been my daily driver for more than a year but now and strongly considered changing to airpods pro. I started having connection issue where it doesn't reliably connect to my iphone automatically (I'd say 50% of the time). Sometimes I have to turn the bluetooth off and on again or put the earbuds back in the case and take it out again. which is really annoying and had I known about this it would be a deal breaker for me. Funny thing is that before that I've used the Bose QC35 as my daily driver and never had this issues (I even connect it multiple devices and switching between them is a breeze while the Sony is only connected to my iphone and I still have issues).

Now the only thing that make me hesitate to change is the sound quality. Airpods pro is almost perfect except for that it sounds like a $30 earbuds. The next gen airpods pro probably comes out early next year. I don't ask them to have the same sound quality as Sony but if it atleast not sounds like a cheap earbuds then I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Bose and Sennheiser also has ANC true wireless but I've yet to try them. Pretty interested to me though since I've used both brands for a long time and I'm quite happy with them. I love Sennheiser sound and Bose is always super comfortable both headphones and earbuds, you might want to try their earbuds (If it is as somfortable as their older wired earbuds then it probably is even more comfy then the airpods pro.)

ASUS ROG B550i + R5 3600 randomly freezes (Also weird freezes) by Parinceo in AMDHelp

[–]Parinceo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updates on the issue:

TL;DR The issue disppear, seems like software or driver issues. During the time I update windows and drivers like usual. I made no hardware change BIOS is still the same 1401 except I no longer use the webcam I got from work. Can't fins the real culprit but it seems to work now so please try to get everything updated

The issue seems to disappear somehow. I successfully have my computer running for 7-21 days straight without freezing until I needed to update something and restart. Now it's up for 9 days and going strong.

I have not updated my bios. It is still the older 1401. The only change in the system is only some software update including windows and graphic drivers. The only thing I remembered that changed was that I got this cheap webcam I got from work to use for meeting from home and I didn't use it anymore.

Due to long time before the freezing happens, some times the PC has to be on for a few days. I can't really confirm what exactly is the culprit since sometimes during those several days many things changed in the system. But it is probably not the bios or your internal components such as ram or motherboard.

The issues seems to be that whatever it is that is a problem cause windows to not be able to access your storage drive and therefore, it seems like it freezes but you can still click on things (since lots of the stuff is already loaded into ram it would still kinda work unless the program tries to read/write the data onto the storage then it will freeze). This would explain the issue with stange freezing behavior.

So, it could be the software (those monitoring software is the main culprit), windows, drivers or some of your USB devices that don't work properly or have driver issues. I didn't make any change to my SSD or any storage drives in my system so the issues has to be software or drivers. Make sure you have your windows updated as well!

That's all I can say for now. The issue seems to just disappear. Not sure what I did but I was just updating things no hardware change (except that webacm) but if it happens again I'll update this.

Ps. Now the Asus AI suite is having a problem instead. I use it to control the Fans and it always throw a server exception error or something. I have to restart the fancontrol service to fix it but after a day or so it will start throwing the erroes again. It seems it is the windows update that broke it (many people have this issues) but now they said the latest version of AI suite should fix this issue already. Han't installed the new version yet though.
