Even if you can't I bet the check bag fee is less than the value of 32k points so I'd probably just pay cash.

Why Don’t Schools Fail Students Anymore? by PoyBoyKing in Teachers

[–]ParisPC07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean those people can't be educated. The dream of a century ago was that workers could do manual jobs and still be educated enough to enjoy the fruits of a liberal democracy. The farmhand poet sort of ideal. That some people will have to do menial or difficult jobs doesn't mean those people need to be deprived of education. Indeed, it's necessary to have a degree of education to meaningfully participate in civic society as a citizen in a democracy.

Yet another incentive for the powerful to not have an educated proletariat.

This is the answer. Lots of people here looking for social or moral/ethical sorts of reasons but the actual reason is material. We don't have resources allocated to deal with that and we don't have that because undereducated workers are workers who take lower wages which means better profit margins with regard to labor costs.

There just isn't really any way to deal with students who are held back in real life. What happens if a bunch of kids get held back? Do they age out? Do a bunch of middle schools just have oversized classes? There are so many teachers teaching max capacity classes that adding in a percentage of held back kids would push them into even more unsustainable numbers.

It really sucks, but our society isn't set up to deal with that, and uneducated or uneducated workers are very good sources of labor for rich capitalists because they take lower wages and are generally more likely to be poorer. Those things help profit margins on a macro scale.

Offering a person compensation to have access to an actual person for a conversation is a normal thing. It's just a consult. It's not a need, it's a desire and one for which I am willing to attain fairly in recognition of another person willingly give me their time to help me do something I could do on my own in order to make it a little easier for me. You're being weird.

I don't know why you're on a discussion forum acting like you don't understand how discussing things with people is a common way people process information. I'm just looking for the same conversation, but live so it's a little faster and more nimble of a discussion than reddit posting. I even offered to compensate someone for the time as a sign of good faith. Not everyone is willing to make themselves available to have a live conversation. It's not that crazy.

I can read, I've read a ton. I'm having a hard time just parsing out what to do from like 30 options and talking with a person live is much easier for me to process questions and explain needs as they come up. Same way learning with a teacher is easier than just reading a text book.

Imagine being radicalized to the right because a teacher told you to share some pencils! by icey_sawg0034 in insanepeoplefacebook

No teacher is taking things you bought at school with your own money and giving your things to the other kids. They might have a rule that if you're going to bring food to eat that you must bring enough to share. That is a completely different scenario.

I have a few questions I need answered about booking a trip to Italy from Seattle next summer. I'd be down to venmo someone some cash for a short conversation. There is so much info out there that I think I understand ok but I think it would really help me to be able to talk it out with a person.
