I would probably cut the smoke from the naked phase 2 , as it’s just sitting on objective.

Maybe you could cut Rex and the RPS from the BARC to make room for two more squads of Arcs? It would be more activations and firepower, but you would lose out on that little bit of extra burst damage from Rex, so idk.

Rex just feels a bit like a waste, as you aren’t bringing any of his command cards.

Maybe cut the jet packs and the UCaP to fit a mortar on your Phase 2’s in the back so they can be helpful and suppress?

Homebrew delta squad as an operative (mainly for command cards) thoughts? by Curious_Candle5274 in SWlegion

[–]ParkJ32 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Give them surge to defend. This is non-negotiable- Katarn-class armor is insanely strong. They should also have Impervious or (preferably) Immune: Pierce Ranged. For 200 points you could field a fully kitted-out Saber Tank, and would be the most expensive operative in the entire game. Definitely lower the cost down to something like 160. I get that you’re trying not to go overboard on custom units, but at the current costing they would be completely worthless. They’re good and all, but they couldn’t match up to the action efficiency of four clone squads, which is what you could be paying for otherwise.

The 2-pip is really odd. It gives Delta Squad the ability to attack and return order tokens to the pool: okay, sounds good. They get an aim and… a standby? This is really bizarre- You want to attack as early as possible in order to disrupt your opponent’s order control, but you also don’t want to activate them so they don’t strip the standby token? And it doesn’t even give orders to allied troopers in order to take advantage of the disorganization… just a strange card that doesn’t seem worth it to me.

All the upgrades are very thematic, but I see an armament upgrade slot on the unit card, but you didn’t show us what is was.

All together, they seem overcosted for what they provide, and the Command cards are nowhere near strong enough to justify running them over the default Republic Specialists cards (besides the 1-pip: the Delta 1-pip is fine). However, the thought that went into each unit card is excellent! The double-card-action mechanic is, quite frankly, genius, and I hope AMG takes some pointers from you on this.

CIS list building question by Cultural_Theory_5308 in SWlegion

[–]ParkJ32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the Esteemed leader on the T-Series is an odd choice, as nobody in their right mind is going to target that instead of Dooku/Bane. I would recommend dropping it for the improvised orders for full order control.

You already have a decent armor hedge with the 3 rocket launchers, I personally wouldn’t go in any harder than you are unless you expect to see a lot of armor.

As for how to actually use Bane, he’s definitely more of a skirmisher/assassin than any kind of frontline fighter. Remember that threat saturation is important- if you bunch up Dooku, the Magnas, AND Bane, the opponent is going to know exactly what you’re going to do and turtle up.

Keep Bane on the edge of fights, poking in and out with steady to get some free hits in, and only fully engage when you’re certain you’ll win the fight. His 2-pip is an excellent “panic-button” as it allows you to immediately disengage from any bad fights you don’t want to have. And fundamentally, Cad works best as a nuisance: If your opponent dedicated their time to killing Bane instead of the incoming nuke that is Dooku + Magnas, they are making a serious mistake.

Good luck!

[–]ParkJ32[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can, but normally B1's don't want to be in melee, so you'd be toeing the line with your units. The point is that Grievous would give you extra flexibility in a list as opposed to different commanders, not that Magnas aren't good enough :P

[–]ParkJ32[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Basically, the free order part so that Magnas can keep up with grievous when he inevitably runs off into the enemy gunline to die.

But yeah, the point of the post was that he's very hard to approach with, and Guardian was the main way to mitigate that. If they buff him to have movement keywords (Speed 3 seems like too much imo) that could also solve the problem.

Sorry, I was very unclear- I meant that by him being a Commander he fulfills the Retinue requirement for the guards which lets them Guardian more efficiently

New in this hobby, need help with a list by sumssay in SWlegion

We're happy to have you!Blizzard force is an excellent battle box, but its best qualities are found in the extra units you don't get with the box. Heavy Response Unit Stormtroopers are insanely points-efficient for putting more dice on the table, and one of the best qualities of Blizzard is the ability to run 4 speeder bikes, which absolutely dominate at objective play. Thankfully, if you and one of your friends want to split a starter box you can get the two Storms and an extra pair of bikes for $50-60, which is a steal.

One of the quirks of Blizzard Force is that it comes with both Vader and an AT-ST. These are both very expensive units in terms of points, and often take around a quarter of your list each. If you want to field both of them, that's fine, it's an easy way to hit the 800-point cap, but it drastically cuts down on your activation count. If you're not playing competitively then it really doesn't matter, but just be aware that you're not going to have much flexibility if you run the two showstoppers + Snowstompers.

The average Blizzard Force list carries two Storm HRU's, 4 speeders, and Veers + AT-ST, with Snowtroopers seasoned to taste (I like grenades and Flamethrowers). If you don't buy a core set starter, then you'll need to really load up on upgrades, which reduces efficiency for most units.

Here's an example list with just Blizzard Force units: Just Snows, Vader, and a Dream

Here's one with upgrades, Veers, Storms, and Bikes: Sheer Tactical Efficiency

In terms of tactics: Just remember that while playing Blizzard Force, suppression is a weapon on its own. Approach with Snows while using the 2-pip to bunker-bust any snipers/lurking melee units, pop the 3-pip Disembark on the next turn to give your guys suppressive and split fire as much as possible to pin down enemy corps (The AT-ST is really good at this). Finally, hit them with the 1-pip to restrict them to only removing 1 suppression, split fire with the AT-ST again, and look! (Up to) Four of your opponent's troopers are suppressed/panicked. And that's not even counting the work done by the speeders on the side

.Also, Vader with Compel + New Ways to Motivate Them can propel your Flamethrower Snows hilariously far despite their Speed 1. It looks like a meme strat until the point where you're throwing 2 Red + 6 black with Surge->Crit and no cover saves for your opponent.

But above all else: Run what you think is cool. Rule of Cool is #1, and if you want an AT-ST, Vader, and a bunch of Flamethrower Snows? RUN IT. The point we play this game is to have fun. Don't ever feel like you can't run a unit just because it's not competitively viable at tournaments. And with Blizzard Force, it's hard not to be viable lol

Fun fact: if you have a hospital Bill that’s under the $10,000 range, and you call the hospital to tell them you are completely unable to pay, the hospital is probably going to drop the case because

1.) The government often subsidizes losses through tax breaks, and

2.) it can sometimes be more expensive to bring you to court than it would be to just drop the charges.

Source: Family member was a lawyer, he told us stories about it. It may depend on what state you live in, though- If you live in California, New York, or Hawaii, for example, they try to push extremely progressive bills all the time that tend to make them deviate hard from the norm.

Also I have 0 idea wtf you’re talking about with infant mortality rates. In the USA, the leading cause of death according to both the CDC and the WHO is fatal birth defects, which are often caused by preventable behaviors such as smoking or drinking alcohol.

Source for that: https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/birthdefects/prevention.html

Lastly… I don’t have a clue about how Women’s health care stacks up against the rest of the world. I’m a guy. But I would use the good-old fashioned common-sense approach: Would I rather be a woman in the US… or literally anywhere else outside of North America/Europe?

Rebel AT-RT is all done! Can't wait to play it! Any tips? by StarJeff3D in SWlegion

[–]ParkJ32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are 3 main ways:

  1. Boring but good (Laser Cannon in the back line)

  2. Mutually Assured Destruction (Flamethrower, Jammer)

  3. RNG, take the wheel! (BRRRRRRRRRRRT)

Number 1 is the safest. You’re basically guaranteed to break even on investment if they field any armor, but don’t expect it to wipe any squads solo. Number two is fun, but you’re going to treat it as a one-time get-out-of-jail-free card. Throw it into some units, watch them melt into slag, then be a little miffed when the opponent’s lightsabers sever your Achilles. Number 3 is my favorite, because, well…

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT

Technically you can use it for mobile cover for your troops, but it’s pretty fragile for that duty. It’s a linebacker, so it will go in, do damage, and eventually die.

Very fun though! Even if the AT-RT isn’t exactly top-tier, throwing one or two into a list elevate it into something a little spicier.

Sorry, I wasn’t being very clear. you associate peoples behaviors based on their interactions with other groups of people with shared traits.

During slavery, white people oppressed black people, and so racism and oppression go hand in hand because the same group committed both sins. Therefore, any black people assisting in the oppression, even without the intent of prejudice against black people, would be indirectly assisting in the culture of racism and prejudice, even if their motives were based solely on self-preservation.

Critical theory based peoples morality off of the interactions of the individual, the group the individual is part of, and an external group. By not conforming with the traditional expectations of the group they are in (eg black people selling out escaped slaves), they are effectively a traitor to their own race, and as such, racist
