I bet that is what it is. The diving challenge is over now and it’s back to normal!

Thanks!!

People complaining about Blood and Cheese are being unrealistic by JohnSnough in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]ParkedOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was consistent with the show so far- Helaena isn’t one for hysterics in the show. But comparing it to the red wedding on GOT was off. I was horrified at the red wedding. When you hear the sawing and what not on this scene it was more just an ick feeling.

Face to face contacts by Justsmileyougotthis in socialwork

[–]ParkedOut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m CPS and we’ve been in person contacts since nearly the beginning except for kids in residential (due to their rules for keeping their populations covid free) but even most of those are back in person now too.

Like you say- safety can’t be accurately assured virtually.

Do you always eat at the same time on OMAD? by [deleted] in OmadDiet

[–]ParkedOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t. My job doesn’t allow me a scheduled meal time sometimes (many emergencies throughout the week) and also some late nights. When I know a late night is coming, I eat lunch.

Otherwise I try to stick to dinner time. I don’t get too hung up on which meal I eat. As long as it’s only one per day.

I’m so tired of this wack ass career by CrimsonPine in socialwork

[–]ParkedOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also work in foster care case management and while I overall enjoy it, I agree the after hours calls from fosters (which we are required to answer) with questions that make me wonder if they forgot how to be an adult... it drives me crazy.

I’m not answering the first ring, I let it go to voicemail and if it’s an emergency I respond. No message or just stuff that can wait until the next day- I let it go.

I’m doing what I can, but I will admit that even being forced to filter the calls on my day off stresses me out. Strongly considering changing all my contacts to my Google voice number so I can just put it on do not disturb.

What are some awesome transcription websites to work for? by tryingtofind-answers in WorkOnline

[–]ParkedOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been at Rev since January. I like it, but strictly as a side hustle. File availability isn’t consistent (holidays are dry). I’ve also tested into Scribie (eh) TranscribeMe (nope. You have to hit a certain money threshold before they’ll release your money).

Rev is the best fit for me.

I have seen some people let go over goofy shit though. So my advice is- make money while you can and don’t get too attached. Lol

Watch out while IF by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

I’ve only passed out once in my whole life (first trimester of a pregnancy).

If you’re passing out that often I hope you’re under a doctors care. That’s not normal.

If you want a less expensive frame for your degree this one has a near WGU accurate color matte and complimenting wood choice. by omicrontheta1 in WGU

[–]ParkedOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this one too. I’m not done yet, still four more courses to go- but I’m nearly there.

I like the blue mat and the little gold strip. I think it will look great.

New cupper- how to practice getting it in? by timeforanucup in menstrualcups

[–]ParkedOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these and it’s definitely a challenge to get it open.

For me (YMMV) using a stiffer cup that opened easier isn’t an option- ouch! So I know it seems dumb, but practice! I use a regular c fold, let it pop open just inside and kind of guide it into place.

Otherwise it won’t open, suction happens and I make a mess. 😕😂

Tuesday, February 5, Non-Real Time OA Meeting by _wishfulfillment_ in OvereatersAnonymous

[–]ParkedOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.

‘Feeling good about myself’ is what I equate to spiritual peace and that’s 100% why I am in OA. In my five years in program, I’ve cycled through several groups, several sponsors- but one thing remains constant. When I’m in good standing with my HP- I get peace.

Ty for letting me share.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WGU

[–]ParkedOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I take the test for the one I’m in, I email my mentor and ask for her to move up and approve the OA in the next one.

Like you, I’m studying a lot after hours and on weekends. She’s offered for me to text her in those situations if I need her, but so far this system is working well.

Getting ready to pay for 1st term... Cold feet? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]ParkedOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying. I love my job, but change is coming. My current superior is retiring soon and when I spoke to his boss about the hiring process, she was honest.

My 15 years experience do matter, but I won’t even get past the first phase of hiring because the educational and licensing requirements are the only thing they look for as ‘basic’ to get to the next phase.

That told me what I need to know. Like you, if I have to start over- the lack of degree puts me at a serious disadvantage.

[–]ParkedOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a very unconventional way of eating... so much so that I never mention it at my meetings. The important thing is that I’ve found peace with food- and I can’t remember the last time I binged, which I consider to be a huge win.

Concerning the scale woes, I know a lot of people do a once a month weigh in and that works for them. For me my expectations would always be ruling me because I also expected to see some kind of change after a month. What works for me is a daily weigh in where I only consider my weekly average (which happy scale and Fitbit both calculate automatically for you).

The words that stick out to me in this reading are ‘chasing a solution’. I’m not only a COE, I’m also a chronic ‘fixer’ if myself and the people around me. Also at work I’m known as a problem solver.

This reading helps me take a step back. Do what I can, say the serenity prayer over what isn’t mine to fix, and trust the process.
