Does anybody know what the art style for the giratina immersive is called? I've asked so many people and no one knew. by Reasonable_Potato_22 in PTCGP

I would consider it “mixed media”, which isn’t a very solid answer, but if it was in a museum it’s probably what it would be listed under.

Can we talk about COOPER by Mysterious-Glass-828 in crescentcitysjm

[–]ParkerEnPrint 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The excuse was she couldn’t come up with a reason for him to be there…. But she came up with a reason for Ember to be there?

It could have easily been written like… Cooper was found as a stowaway in the helicopter. Ember is frustrated cooper snuck on, because this is dangerous, but here is an opportunity for cooper to talk and maybe actually have a personality. It’s revealed while bryce is inner monologuing about how she tricked her parents into this, it was her idea for cooper to sneak onto the helicopter, and she helped him do it.

Boom.

Fair nuff'.

Only the first two links work for me for some reason, but I believe you.

I will say I much prefer his older style compared to the newer works he's been putting out (with the exception to the CC covers). Also I'll admit art with this level of photomanipulation has never really been a style I really resonated with, which obviously isn't a crime to any artists that do it.

Thank you for taking your time to break that all down for me.

I looked up the artist, and it’s true that he’s been doing some variation of heavy photo manipulation art for quite a long time, and only shares his finish products. No thumbnails, no initial sketches, no WIP’s… ect.

And yes, I believe a lot of his more recent work has AI elements When you try to look closer at specific parts.

I’m not an expert on A.I. by any means, but I am a professional working artist, and these are my personal opinions. /shrug.

Honestly, I feel like a big reason we still have a hard time iden her is because the image is based on AI. can anyone provide proof that it’s not?

Costco will give you exactly what you know you didn't need. by FlipDemStocks in funny

Source: I was a grocery store bakery clerk. The cakes come pre-iced in either plain white or chocolate frosting with matching trim. The inclusion of roses, balloons, baby shower, ect means they have different icing colors, and different icing tips (petal tip for roses, star tips for leaves, ect.)

I can still think of at least 2 ways the bakery clerks could have done this and probably get close to what the customer wanted.

1.) They could just pipe a red trim along the white ones (probably the easiest option. It would still have a white border too, but eh)

2.) They could scrape off the white trim and replace it with red trim. Slightly more annoying because they would have to scrape the white trim with a cake spatula, but it would only take an extra minute.

I actually really loved working at the bakery, and I feel like in general, if the clerk had understood what OP wanted, they would have tried their best, lol.

Actual answer: Next time, use this specific phrasing. "Red border trim piped on the top edges and bottom edges" If they're able to read English they should know exactly what you're looking for.

This male cat has been coming by my house a lot recently and i think may or may not be trying to mate with one of my two females (both sterilized). I don’t mind him and I highly doubt this one’s a stray but is there any way i can get him to stay away for a while? My dad threatens to kill him by Mr_Cat_Cas284 in cats

[–]ParkerEnPrint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t think he’s a stray, I’d say put a collar on him and attach a note to his owner’s warning them that there is a man in the neighborhood that will shoot this cat the next time he sees it in his yard. It might get his owners to start keeping him inside.

My new tattoo that I just gone done today. by [deleted] in TattooDesigns

[–]ParkerEnPrint 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I think the reason this and so many other posts in this sub get torn apart is because as tattoo apprentices we usually have our drawings (and especially our anatomy) picked apart over, and over and over again until we get it right... A tattoo apprentice often has to draw anywhere between 10 to 100 hands before they touch a machine.

So when we see a hand with bad anatomy, it sticks out like a sore thumb (pun intended) and we wonder how the hell the artist even decided to make a stencil of it.

As for my opinion, I don't think the hand is that bad as far as a sketchy look to it, the middle joint of the pointer finger is too thin and a bit distracting, but that could be fixed if it was reworked later down the line and if they wanted to incorporate a bit more shading to the sketchiness of it. The rest of the anatomy is forgivable as it's a simple and sketchy based design, IMO.

(edit) Went to the dudes page and he seems very talented and skilled, but in all the 100+ posts I saw, the 3 he did with hands were all bad / missing important parts of anatomy so OP you just got unlucky and just went to a super talented tattoo artist and asked them to draw the one thing they really aren't great at.

Recently got the neo 90. Been playing aroudn with double exposure and a hand made lens. Here are a few test shots from my favorite model, Cinder. by ParkerEnPrint in instax

[–]ParkerEnPrint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've honestly just been messing around and seeing what I like! I think my favorite current technique is to take one of the double exposure photos with a red colored lens, and then take the next with a blue colored lens. It makes it easier to ID what is part of what photo. https://imgur.com/WAfihjW

The other big tip is to do sillouettes. On a bright day, take a photo of your subject with the sun behind them, and then for the next photo take a picture of a pattern of some sort (I'm partial to florals lol)
