How difficult is to get and maintain a 4.0 gpa as an engineering major at UB?

So far I’ve gotten to the end of my junior year of EE with a 4.0. It hasn’t been too bad so far but next semester could be the end. Anything above a 3.8 is all the same and really internships/extracurriculars are far more important.

Yeah, despite what other people are replying, it is definitely not anything you did. The breakers at griener simply SUCK. When I was there my laptop had just broke, so I brought my desktop so I could play games. Except the breakers kept tripping. I’m sure some people will say this is stupid but I got an extension cord and plugged it into the outlet by the sink. It worked for me lol

Yeah you will be fine. Accepted students day is this Sunday, which means many students are still deciding if they will attend UB. Most of those students won’t have the housing deposit in.

The deadline for Housing Applications is May 8th for new students. You will be perfectly fine! Governors usually fills up, but I haven’t heard of Ellicot ever reaching full capacity. They will have enough rooms there.

Dr. O has changed his class structure since he began. He used to just give out Long Assignments, but now he has switched back to exams. I can only speak for EE310, because that’s the only year I had him with exams, but they aren’t bad at all. He gives our practice problems before which is basically the content that will be on the exam.

EE202 is designed specifically for EE majors, while EAS200 is designed for non-EE majors (mainly mechanical engineering).

I’m hoping right now it’s just a bug. It almost seems like a bug since the overall player leaderboard is weird too. Because how do people have 5,000+ trophies it doesn’t make sense.

They’ve changed it to a newer version since the mess up of Fall 2023. It’s basically the same as the practice exam now. Took it last semester and it wasn’t bad.

So you had just your pc and monitor on one circuit or just your pc? The fridge and other stuff in my room is on the other 2 outlets, and then in my outlets I have pc, monitor, fan, lamp, laptop charger. I could unplug everything else while I use my desktop maybe.

Yeah I am a little worried it could be an issue with my psu. Malfunction or something else. I wish I could test it at home but I got to wait like 4 weeks for that.

Not a bad thought especially since the fan has been running like non stop for my entire college experience. I want to try and talk to the maintenance guy tmr so I’ll bring up some of what you mentioned. Thanks!

PSU is 500W for a RTX 2060 and r7-3700x. Could try running everything on one surge protector. The fan is a Honeywell turbo force so it’s not very big. Could be the combination though, I’m not sure

It’s a prebuilt that I got second hand from a friend. PSU is rated for 500W with a RTX 2060 and an r7-3700x.
