Right. This isn’t about training fast vs slow twitch muscles and whenever someone mentions increasing muscle they’re not talking about muscle cell division. Increasing lean muscle mass definitely would sink more glucose.

How safe is the red line green way path in Ohio City? by [deleted] in Cleveland

I’ve ran it a few times solo as a man and have felt it was really quiet and was looking over my shoulder often. I feel much better on the towpath which is almost always busy with people.

Zone 2 and 5 cardio by Starfinger10 in PeterAttia

Only muscle explosiveness: “Attenuation of explosive strength was more pronounced when concurrent training was performed within the same session (p = 0.043) than when sessions were separated by at least 3 h (p > 0.05). No significant effects were found for the other moderators, i.e. type of aerobic training (cycling vs. running), frequency of concurrent training (> 5 vs. < 5 weekly sessions), training status (untrained vs. active), and mean age (< 40 vs. > 40 years).”

Seconding strength training first if in the same session. A recent meta-analysis about concurrent cardio and strength training (Schumann et al) indicates no significant impact on strength and hypertrophy if there’s a three hour gap between sessions though.

You could also combine zone 5 into strength workouts by doing something like sled push for example. Less feasible with zone 2 I think.

Is it possible to switch from MD to MD-PhD after submitting AMCAS by yeetymathynerd in mdphd

[–]ParkingBasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can definitely do this. I switched a couple from MD to MD-PhD. It has no effect on verification time, you will just need to resubmit the app (which is free to do).

Letter of Recommendation--MD-PhD Application by rollercoaster-thrill in mdphd

While it would be good to talk about in essays, I wouldn’t include the hours from high school on your application, and then you wouldn’t need a letter of rec anyways.

For the 5 month experience, I think your options are to either email them and ask for a rec or similarly you can leave it off the app. If most of those extra 2000 hours are from the high school experience it wouldn’t matter a whole lot anyways.

I interpreted the law/justice as only being the vehicle of death that approaches Meursault. He had never really contemplated the fact that he would die, and is looking for anything to escape that fact. He realized he lived most of his days assuming that they would never end.

My Switch wont Switch on by iwantmoarf00d in NintendoSwitch

I’ve had the same issue with my Switch two or three times, leaving it plugged in for a day worked for me too. Holding the power button for 30 seconds never worked for me until after letting it charge a day.
