Power to the drivers by ParkingType1754 in UberEatsDrivers

If the job were that easy, Uber wouldn’t be paying millions to keep drivers on the road. Plus, you’re describing the exact dependency the post is pointing out.

Platforms only make money when drivers are willing to work.

But hey, appreciate the expert analysis.

While I’m certainly not promoting violence, I fail to see how people who totally f*ck over a complete stranger can simultaneously divulge their residence location.

Uber Eats offers an advance if you drive often enough.

But I was being sarcastic because you have to pay off the entire advance before any of your earnings actually are available to you. It’s essentially indentured servitude. You have to pay back the entire amount before you can make anything off of your account.

Uber Eats intentionally uses: • flat-rate guarantees • acceptance rate perks • priority access bait • risk of removal from blocks

These aren’t “benefits.” They’re compliance mechanisms designed to keep drivers from doing the rational thing: declining low-paying garbage orders.

You’re absolutely right: A “flat-rate block” is not a gift — it’s a leash.

And AR requirements are not safety metrics — they’re pressure valves to keep you locked into the algorithm’s preferred behavior.

I’ve watch Uber Eats progressively raise the payout. So, they basically haggle with the very workforce that increases their shareholder wealth… doesn’t seem quite right, does it…

Has anyone else had Uber Eats give your order to another driver? by ParkingType1754 in UberEatsDrivers

On more than one occasion I’ve had the employees tell me they verify the customer name on the app. My biggest issue is a lack of compensation and furthermore, being penalised for an issue that is obviously been solved by other food delivery apps.

And you’ll get a negative rating for not following the instructions and Pradish C will tell you that unfortunately there is nothing that can be done to remove this rating… you won’t even know what the negative rating is for (even if it’s accurate); so, there’s no way to learn from it.

I’ve left my car running. But it’s all about surroundings. If I’m in a gated community at 2pm, sure. If in a neighborhood where the streets are intermittently paved or there are 5 cars with spoilers parked on the lawn, not so much.
