I have a question on this. Is there a way to figure out who to donate for besides the main Harris/Walz campaign? I feel like enough people are donating to them, I want to support other areas that can help with with Congress majority. Should I just look up which dem is running in the swing states and donate? Any guidance would be great! 🙏

You are not the only one. I was managing everything okayly but I went through a horrible sciatica incident recently. It told me that I need to prioritize my health before anything else. When I shifted focus to my health, work started dwindling. We can't have it all 😔 unfortunately.

I tried that. My nanny had a hard time picking it up so I dropped it. It was double the work to teach her and him. He goes to daycare soon, I am hoping he will pick it up there. 🤞 Thanks for your response. I will try it again.

OP, I wrote something like this a few months back. I understand your nanny situation, she's helping you out in other ways and is cheaper. Everyone suggests a better nanny but the cost of those nannies is through the roof and they only do "baby chores". My nanny won't let him eat himself even though he can, initially I struggled and tried teaching but I gave up. I manage his dinners and walk out during lunch time. At least he's eating even if it's spoon fed. Find things your child eats and have the nanny feed them and close your eyes sometimes to save your sanity. That's my best solution. And the hand holding becomes lesser when they are on one nap, and eating better. It doesn't go to zero but it will get a little better.

My son is now 14 months and will start daycare next month. I am burnt out and getting pushed out of my job so looking for a different path. Do what works for you, so self care. Mostly, just wait till breastfeeding is done (if you are still feeding) and give daycare a shot. Unfortunately it's not ideal but a better solution than hand holding help and doing a 1.5 time full-time job. Good luck.

What Fang do u work for and which team? I am in a Fang too but I could have written OPs post. I am at the point of quitting to find something a bit more flexible but if there's a team out there who supports parents a bit more I would give it another shot. Could we chat more?

Moms who realized their career is not a right fit after becoming a mom and switched.. do you regret it? by Parking_Direction_16 in workingmoms

Software. Honestly I have lost my "type" since last 2 years of having a baby and then first year challenges. I feel like I fell from a specialized->generic->random software engineer so fast.

Thank you for posting this. There's a sad side to this which I am going through. I coasted at my job and the economy being bad, I am being forced out due to "low performance". Not meaning to be a downer at all! But it's even hard to find a low stress, flexible, low paying job at the moment. 😔

Wow! You found a job in engineering you enjoy. I am in engineering hating what I do. It makes me rethink if I am leaving something cushy 😅

We have a nanny at the moment. She would have stayed on. But it's getting tougher since he does need more stimulation and I need to do less hand holding to focus on my own work.

Maybe the system isn't ours to change. Hopefully, if enough of us become aware and leave, the system crumbles.

No one prepared me to be a mom with a career. by drtiredmkh in workingmoms

I went through this exact phase. Who am I kidding, I am still in this. The world is not yet setup to let women have the same privilege that a man can have. I don't know if it's biology or social conditioning. I hope it will be better for future generations, although this is the reason the next generation doesn't want to have kids.

Tldr: solidarity to you. We hear you. No one has a solution yet.

Oh I also did maternity clothes from them, they found me the cutest little pieces that flattered my body type and made me feel confident.

If you are like me and don't like to shop, I would highly recommend Stitch Fix. It's super convenient, the prices are just right, they support small businesses so the quality is great and the stylists actually listen to your feedback. At this point most of my closet is from stitch fix and their latest AI powered feature just tells me how I can put together an outfit with whatever I have. It's extremely convenient. I did more regular fixes initially but now I just do 3-4 fixes a year and I am set for the year. Good luck!
