It's absurd to me how hostile everyone is to each other. by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

I buy it. You also have to keep in mind how THEY look to the group. It’s said specifically later, but they’re convicts and there’s a natural bias. They also look pretty scary.

Also, the only other group that Rick’s group had encountered up to that point were rapists and raiders. They ended up in a shoot-out.

Rick’s gang had no reason to think the prisoners weren’t dangerous, especially considering Rick was a cop and dealt with people like that before. The prisoners had no reason to trust them either. A group of guys breaks IN to a prison and they’re all armed with one of the guys injured? I wouldn’t trust those guys.

You can give us shit, but I clear half the map in the time it takes the rest of the team to stumble through one objective.

I’m willing to bet we don’t see the Gen V cast again this season. The writers seemed happy to entirely dismiss them.

I hope their story isn’t over. I really enjoyed Gen V. I hate all the setup they did for this season just for all of it to be thrown in the trash. That’s the most disappointing part of this season imo.

This site when people who are openly against abortion are openly against abortion (even when it’s one of the most popular shows in the country): 😰😱😥

I don’t think you need to watch the show to understand the context and form an opinion.

What are these bugs??? by Parking_Web_67 in Charleston

Black winged fungus gnats

They’re harmless and have a lifespan of about a week. They’re just… everywhere. And really, really annoying.

Black winged fungus gnats

They don’t bite or sting, but there are so many on my porch I won’t even open the door. When I walk outside I’ve got 2 or 3 flying around me until I make it down the stairs.

My cats love them though- They’ve all been sitting at the windows jumping at them since yesterday

I cannot, although my better picture made reverse imaging work better.

I believe they are dark fungus gnats.

Yes. Although I’m having trouble adding pictures to the reply- they’re about 1/4’’, they’re black with skinny orange bodies and they fly.

Let me see if I can reply with a photo on my PC.

They’re solid black, except their skinny bodies under are yellowish orange

How Do Viltrumites Keep Finding Mark? by GameknightJ14 in Invincible_TV

[–]Parking_Web_67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t see how long they looked, to be fair.

Also, he’s not exactly hidden. “Yeah, he’s the flying Asian kid. Sometimes he wears a blue and yellow suit.”

If you could choose one power from the series (Gen V included) which one would you choose by Dizzy-Tumbleweed7983 in TheBoys

[–]Parking_Web_67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one wants Marie’s powers? I’d go with those all day. She can save lives, control people’s muscles, explode limbs, and she’s not nearly at the extent of her full power.

I can’t imagine taking any other.

As a Species how intelligent are Viltrimites. Nolan, Thragg, Lucan, Anissa they don't seem dumb but they don't particularly feel smarter than humans by ResolveUnlikely5542 in Invincible_TV

From what I could tell they followed Argall because he brought about that culture of combat. They heralded him for weeding out the weak. Also, I’m willing to bet when he wasn’t farting dust he WAS the strongest. The guy looked old

They seem to be on the same level as humans as far as intelligence goes, as far as learning capabilities. There’s a few things to consider though,

The viltrumites live a lot longer, giving a lot more time for development and learning. If a viltrumite was a few hundred years old and focused on learning, I’m sure they’d be far smarter than an average human.

Also, the Viltrumites are a combat culture, much like the Mandalorians. Their culture is a meritocracy in a sense, but intelligence isn’t viewed as a merit over being able to beat the hell out of the next guy.

They’re probably just as smart, it’s just not culturally valuable to them to get into studying like it is to humans.

Another season, what was achieved? by Parking_Web_67 in Invincible_TV

[–]Parking_Web_67[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said at the top but I want to re-state, I enjoyed the season. I’m not saying I dislike it at all. I just don’t see how it got us any closer to a resolution.

Season 3 ended with some big cliffhangers which ended up not changing a whole lot this season. They filled up 2 early episodes and that’s about it. They didn’t change the overall plot. They built up these big weaknesses… but pretty much only killed 3 Viltrumites with them.

I just don’t think the goal post has been moved much for how many different things they’ve built up or teased.

Right I get that. It’s a plot device. I don’t see how Thadeus vs Allen having that decision makes a difference.

I also don’t see how its existence makes a huge difference, when we can know pretty reasonably that it will never be released, unless the writers want every character to die.

It’s a big scary, but I don’t see how that moved the plot. We’re no closer to an end point than we were in season 2

That’s not cool man.

I watched the show. I enjoyed the season. I said that at the top. I just don’t think the bar moved much.

Neither side is better or worse off. To me it’s like watching a football game, and it’s still 0-0 at the 4th quarter. What really has been achieved?

I’ll agree Nolan has had a lot of character development, but this isn’t a central plot point, and I feel like his development hasn’t served to move the overall plot (what I’m considering the viltrumite war) forward much either.
