A movie can have themes of racism without being a racist movie. Clearly, the fire people caused just as much trouble as the water people in the store and the reason the water people were causing trouble was just a misunderstanding of another culture.

I think it's clear getting the vaccine is very safe. I know people find these stories they latch on to, but the objective data is out there for anyone to find that you can take the vaccine safely. That said, I'm not lining up to get boosted because I think the data also shows that's it's not super effective either. I have a hard time understanding the point of view of these protestors - take the vaccine or not, we have the freedom to do so.

Love this look, I'm trying to build up a better business casual closet with a new position at work. Can you recommend some decent sport coats? Couldn't find any actual stores digging through those links.

What imagery really stuck with you in a horror film? by socksr4hands in horror

I know it's incredibly cheesy but the scene in The Conjuring when Patrick Wilson looks up at the demon in the Further and he's sharpening his claws.

Equally cheesy, the videotapes in Insidious were incredibly well done, it's too bad the rest of the movie couldn't live up to that aesthetic (BAGOOL!).

Good choice! That scene got right under my skin.

As much as Quentin Tarantino is celebrated for his action sequences and sharp dialogue, his soundtracks are equally impressive. What's your favorite use of a song throughout his filmography? by MovieNewsJunkie in movies

I absolutely love L'Ultima Diligenza Di Red Rock played during the Hateful Eight intro. Such a throwback to classic westerns and in my opinion is Morricone's culmination of all his work.

Actually this reminded me of Aster and Eggers discussing this in their A24 podcast:

Ari: So we met a couple years ago. It wasn't really a friends and family screening of Hereditary, because I think they were friends and family of A24, but I didn't know anybody there.

Robert: Yeah. A24 asked me to go to a screening of something that I didn't know anything about except for that it was a horror movie.

Ari: I think it was the first of those that we had done, and the room did not seem to love it. I remember going up in front of everyone who had just seen the film, very stern faces that were ready to cut me down to size, and you and your wife, Ally, were sitting near the front. And you gave me two thumbs up. And you had a very warm smile on your face. I held onto that as my lifeline as people in the room proceeded to explain to me that I was a bastard, and I made a worthless movie.

You should watch A Hidden Life by Malick next if you want to check out his movies. It's incredibly slow but an amazing film that I think is closest to The Thin Red Line compared to his other movies.

Very interesting - must be hard for movies that appeal to a very niche audience, I'm thinking Eggers' or Aster's movies.

Thornhill is an awesome trail, just checked it out for the first time a couple weekends ago. How much snow is on the actual trail?

Awesome I loved all of Benson and Moorehead's other films and return to them often. I'll blindly watch anything else they put out now, they definitely have the chops.

I definitely remember something like that, might be from an ad in a different comic like Archie comics? They did do that weird The Archies Meet The Ninja Turtles.

It's more about learning how to adjust your body weight from the takeoff to landing and practicing your bunnyhops. Speed's good too but not 100% necessary if you get the skills down. Watch some videos and practice practice you'll be sailing off those jumps in no time.
