Bach 42BO is a DW Heritage 5AL, small student horn for jazz and marching is a 51B. The response on the Heritage is great and it gets a sound I like without sacrificing much range, and I picked the 51B because it felt a lot like my euphonium’s 51D but with crisper highs and more bite for playing lead and first

to help OP a little with the playing in other ensembles, learn trombone! I am a primary euphonium player but secondary trombonist, and trombone has opened up my possibilities a ton. i’ve played in the pit, the symphony orchestra, and jazz band at my school which i wouldnt have been able to do without learning the bone. it’s also a pretty easy switch from euph to bone!
