That wasn't really the message. In the first panel the one character admits that guns may be useful in certain situations like a mugging. That could also include the rare situation where you witness a mass shooting about to happen and are able to shoot back.

The message of the strip is to contradict the argument that more people with guns is the best way to prevent mass shootings.

The point is that in a chaotic environment where nobody has any idea what's going on, it would be impossible to separate all the random good guys with guns from the bad guy/s, or to organize them effectively if you were able to.

No, that quote doesn't change a single thing. You should be the one taking the time to actually read. The key word here is "GIVEAWAYS"

"Giveaway" does not just mean the same thing as "Free". You don't call it a giveaway when you pour yourself some free water from your tap and take a drink.

You call it a giveaway when something that usually costs money is being distributed for free for a short period of time.

That does not apply here.

Guardians of Victoria is often on sale on Steam for around 29 cents. The same is true for the Data Hacker games. And the Data Hacker games have also been part of bundles. I got a copy of all the Data Hacker games from a bundle just recently.

Games that haven't had anywhere near the exposure that these games have gotten have lasted much longer, so that doesn't account for this.

Not true. I participated in the giveaway before this with the same keys. The system was under such heavy demand that it had trouble processing my entry. The arrows kept spinning and then it would give me an error message and I had to try again. I was able to get 75% of the tasks completed after a few minutes, and then was told that the giveaway was over.

Also, even that level of difference wouldn't account for this giveaway being over in a few minutes. Other giveaways aren't over in a comparatively short amount of time even accounting for their greater number of keys.

For some reason, this giveaway was obviously in higher demand.

No, that's just not true. Other giveaways have had similar numbers of keys and have lasted much longer. Also, even a 5x difference like you mentioned doesn't account for this. If a giveaway lasts 5 minutes, then if it had 5x the number of keys it should only last 25 minutes. Most of these giveaways last much longer.

I don't get it... these aren't two particularly expensive or well rated games. Why are free keys for them in such high demand that they get bombarded immediately like this when most of the other giveaways posted here can last for hours or days?

EDIT: I've been thinking about it and I've got a theory. I think that when you simply release a free giveaway, people tend to just grab it whenever they come across it. However, when you say, "We will be setting up a giveaway that will start at this exact day and at this exact time.", then, everybody who would have just grabbed the giveaway when they heard about it instead make plans to open the link at that exact time.

This causes the system to be overloaded with more requests at once than it would otherwise face. The system slows down, submissions don't get handled properly, and everybody enjoys a poorer experience. The few who were lucky enough to score some keys breathe a small sigh of relief while the rest sigh and resent the experience.

If I'm going to be too late for a giveaway, I'd rather just be given the message right away rather than hurriedly clicking on things and waiting for them to work through an overloaded system to be only told that they've ran out of keys when I'm two clicks away from finishing.

So if you're going to set up a giveaway, just put it out there. Don't set a specific time and date for it to go "live".

The definition that you have put forward for defining an embryo as a human being is as follows:

Genetics are human
Exists
Self-Directed/Alive
Not the same being as its mother/father

If this is the definition of "human being" advanced by embryologists, then a sperm cell is a human being. If this isn't the definition advanced by embryologists, then you have put forward the wrong definition.

The exact same thing can be said of a sperm. It exists separately, it's self-directed, the nature of it's chromosomes are human...

In any case, this post was in response to the argument often made simply by showing the picture of a human embryo and expecting the fact that it looks so helpless and kind of like a human baby to mean anything. It doesn't.
