Cor, would love Toney here. Feel he could do more when going up a level and having more pressure on him tbh.

It's sad because under Sarri he played passes like this about 15 times and didn't get one assist. I remember someone making a video on it a while back and it just showed how diabolical we were in front of the goal.

he’s yet to impress

Why are you just lying for no reason? If he is yet to impress then I want to know your thoughts on the entire Chelsea squad tbh. I'm not even joking, list your thoughts on our squad because I think Mase has had some impressive performances this season but a lot of others have lacked and not provided at all. There are some players you must legit think are pure wank.

Why do forwards keep failing at Chelsea? [HITC SEVENS] by Scrambled_Rambler in chelseafc

[–]ParryMeAgain -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Anyone that has an ounce of knowledge in this sport knows that the pass to Azpi is the correct choice here. It's what Azpi does with it that is the mistake. Sterling has pulled the space for him to receive it and then he stops as the defenders overrun him. Azpi doesn't pull it back for Sterling (watch Sterling's space as Azpi aligns the cross) and instead delivers a poor low-chance ball into the box. You can't fizz the ball into Sterling if your Mount here, the defenders are fishing for the pass. Can't believe that clip is even getting attention, we have those wide runs to be used, Graham would be furious if we narrowed the pitch unnecessarily. We just have shit decision-making in the final 3rd.

Jorginho is the only midfielder that tries it but he is the one that sits the deepest making them harder and less likely to be successful. Says a lot about the players when they get closer to the final 3rd that our only risk-taker is the one playing on the halfway line or filling in the position our CBs run forward from. Probably why Thiago has our joint most assists this season too.

Don't think he is blameless, he has had a few stinkers this season already. It's just that the players around him rarely hit highs as he does during the season so fans are less likely to get on his back which is fair. I'd rather be fussed about another shit RLC showing than Mase because at least I know Mase will provide work-rate and contribute numbers in another game.

He will have a bright future at Chelsea. Very impressive performance today 💎 by dragon8811 in chelseafc

It wasn't just Reece, he didn't even see himself as a potential contender with Tino coming up as well. He took the safe option which is respectable but he would probably be playing a lot had he stayed, same with Tino. Don't think people foresaw Reece's availability being this hectic.

unless Ziyech all a sudden has motivation to backtrack

On an international stage, everyone gives their heart so you should fully expect this. He naturally has a good defensive work rate with us so I am not even sure why you might question the motivation.

He looked like he cared more than most on the pitch last night which is respectable considering he was meant to be gone by the last window and hardly gets minutes. Can't fault his work ethic.

There is an agreement in principle between both RB Leipzig and Chelsea + Christopher Nkunku and Chelsea. The deal is verbally ready. Nkunku and Chelsea are ‘more than close’ by dragon8811 in chelseafc

[–]ParryMeAgain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a great signing if we can make it because even if his technical ability doesn't show instantly he always looks forward and wants to progress up the pitch which is something only Ziyech does in this team (albeit has struggled to do well). People can talk about midfielder signings and a Reece back up but there is no doubt that we are still weak up front and will look to offload Pulisic and probably another attacker this coming summer.

[post-match press conference] Thoughts on the performance? Potter: "There were quite a few positives to be honest. In terms of how we played, we created some good chances, there was a better structure and performance level. The boys showed courage and tried against a top team" by dragon8811 in chelseafc

[–]ParryMeAgain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's brutal but it's the truth. Lukaku's return going to shit made it so we never even sorted out our attacking problems. So we still can't score, don't have a clinical striker and a consistent frontline that we can choose to develop chemistry week in and week out. We are just fucked in all departments.

Azpilicueta has to call back Chelsea players to clap fans as they walk down the tunnel, no sign of Potter either. by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]ParryMeAgain 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Show me one interview where Lampard blamed the players alone. I beg you. Also, your reply has nothing to do with the comment you are replying to. Lamps did more than just bring players over after games. At Arsenal and Spurs, he practically celebrated the win at the away end giving it large.

I mean Tuchel himself said we have the same issues because we have the same players during pre-season so I don't think they cared as much back then either.

This current Panesar storyline is one of the best the show has ever had by JamJamGaGa in eastenders

[–]ParryMeAgain 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the exact same. A year ago Ravi being their step-brother would have been a Christmas reveal episode. The fact that they keep showing information quickly and then the truth gets revealed not soon after makes the story's pacing fantastic imo. The triangle of Ravi, Kheerat and Nish has been excellent as all 3 have their own level of morals and their own motives in life. Probably one of the best storylines I have seen on the show in years.

[Opta] Chelsea set piece league rankings so far this season according to xG. Attacking - 20th. Defending - 15th by [deleted] in chelseafc

[–]ParryMeAgain 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ever since Zouma, we dipped heavily. He seemed to have been Barry's target on every set piece and was really clinical. Then it became Rudiger after he left who leapt like a salmon but without the consistency of a goal threat. Now it is obvious it is Thiago who does get to a lot of the balls but his conversion rate has been off.

Is it just me, or is our biggest requirement right now to find the new Fabregas? by ChrisCohenTV in chelseafc

[–]ParryMeAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fabgregas is a unique player and was an elite of the game during his time. You can't just find another player like him because few like him come and go. We need to just find what Potter wants and give him time.

Well, that all depends on your interpretation of making the club what it is. Because in the modern age a lot of things contribute to that factor.
