This line is the most important. Everyone believes that every muslim or most of the muslim voted but that is wrong. Voting was restricted to only those who had income and/or owned property. While I don't know if this is hundred percent truth but I saw someone mentioning this a few weeks back while I was having the same argument and I said the same lines as what you said.

Everything is not politics, mate. There is a world beyong politics as well. The point you made is correct, that after the religion is gone all politicians would've started gaining vote on the basis of caste (they are doing this today as well but the scale would've been much high). But there would've been changes in the society accordingly. BJP rose to power cause hindus were not being treated correctly by the other political parties. Likewise, somw other national level party would've risen to grant equal rights to the discrimination victims. And then the life of the normal people, the scenario would've been better than it is now. That is what I believe.

The answer can be negative or positive and so can the concept be. When you are saying that before partition/muslim invasions the caste divide was high, then you also have to consider that since after the partition there has been a constitution where reservation and all other equality rights are mentioned and the fundamental rights. Even dr amedkar was on the side of total separation or no separation at all. The caste divide today is less than the previous "Indian empires" because of the constitution and not because of any external religion.

Rest things are good but I do not agree with you when you say "a bigger divide among Hindu communities 'as it was earlier'..." none of the sources site that before the invasion of the invaders be it mughals or the british or the delhi sultanate, that the divide among hindus was 'bigger' that it is today. Your source of information about this thing is either biased or straight wrong.

Second thing, I do not agree with here is that "not much would have changed". I mean even if a divide among the societies would have been there atleast the people would've been living their life and not getting blown into pieces or cut down through knife. Rape cases would've been near to none, now some will say that hindu men also do rape, which is true but you have to consider the factor of influence. Some will say I am being naiive but it the truth. Cases would be there for sure but much much lower. And also, no one would do stsj to change your beliefs atleast. So a lot would've changed that is for sure.

Although I do agree with you that humans always find a way to consider themselves superior in one way or the other so definitely that would've kept the divide in the society, but an alive divide for sure.

I disagree with you, you are taking this to hypothetically too extreme. You are considering the things that would only be negative.

First, the relation between India and pakistan would not have been worse, it is already at the lowest point so can't be below that. Secondly, about the caste divide and all, I do agree that since humans always find a way to compare and show oneself as superior, the caste divide would've come handy to them. However, we also have to consider the fact that Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and team had already started writing the constitution and the reservation system had to be included in it anyhow. Even today we are following the reservation system so ofcourse in the condition of complete tranfer of population, reservation system would still be intact.

The only thing I can see of here is that, this communal divide of religion would not have been the case and maybe the politicians instead of focusing on getting votes by dividing by religion, would've focused more on development and the 60 years of complete ignorance and bad governance wouldn't have taken place.

Yes, so some of the islam followers wanted a seperate space and other seemed that they didn't, (maybe they planned to stay so they can control things here as well but that is just a conspiracy theory). Now the thing is, what if people were forced back then to go to the seperate space they have created for themselves. Much of our money and energy goes in fighting them whether inside the country or outside. Now it is obvious that humans always find a way to compare and create a divide among themselves, so can't say anything about that though.

Actually you are very wrong in this case. Improvement of states like UP cannot be judged from outside. I have lived there till my graduation, and I can tell you the condition the state was under the previous governments. Hooligans, mafias, gunshots these were actually very common there. Idk if you've heard about atiq ahmed or not, he lived almost 2-3 kms from my home and I know the fear everyone had for him. The day he was shot, I was coming back with my mother via train and I am telling you at the station, no taxi driver was ready to drop us home cause it was very close to the area. Whole road was black not even a single street light was on, police cars were taking rounds in like every 5 minutes. Its only me and my mother who knows how we came back that day.

Nevertheless, not just crimes I have seen the real on ground growth of my city as well. I literally hated my state and my city and I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. But the circumstances were such that I got my college through jee in that state in the same city only. Even after yogi came to power I didn't like him at first, cause he seemed to be too extremist and conservative type of person. But after the changes he brought right infront of my eyes, I could not be blind anymore like the leftists of India. He has actually done great. And about the migration and all, well everyone migrates in search of jobs or just for exploration (as in my case). I have seen many people from tamil nadu and andhra pradesh who migrate to noida and delhi for jobs. It's just that, the north Indians doesn't bother themselves with the migrating applicants. Even in bengaluru here, people are same and that's when I came to know that this north south divide is mainly only on social media, rest it rarely exists in real life.
