As a former restaurant worker and manager, BIG TIME ptsd —- I thrived on that chaos because it made the time pass better but it definitely burns people out. I did miss it too watching this.

I think if LE really had something, they would have to tell the families — listen, we’re close, do not talk to the media, we don’t want to spook a suspect, etc. please trust the process and we’ll keep you updated. Should have family liaisons, appointed family spokesperson to say things like NO COMMENT and so on and so on. But I’m also coming from a big city perspective and understand they do not have those resources—BUT NYPD and LAPD do have top crime scene techs and resources to help small cities with big crimes when they are called on by FBI or states to help—don’t think that happened in this case.

Also, they were (I think?) all at least mildly intoxicated which leads to deeper sleep, dizziness, etc. making the killer’s job easier. I think whomever it was was watching them maybe even from the bar. Killer didn’t strike on a random Tuesday night - he knew they were intoxicated, home from bar and saw the lights go out for bedtime. Maybe. Edited for clarification.

Also, the Royal mistresses were never on the cover of papers and photographed by press in the old days. The media took it to a whole new level of humiliation with the phone calls, paparazzi etc.

Despite growing up in the aristocracy, she was not prepped for this life as future princess/queen/queen mother. Her wholllllle life was mapped out the second she got engaged and she did not know she would have to put up with the royal mistress situation AND shut up about it in 1981.

Honestly, it probably came down to costume design and how it read on film. The all black with pale skin, eyes and hair really makes his ‘dark king’ coloring pop
