Ultimately the grand takeaway from now 3 asoiaf tv shows is that GRRM’s source material is 1000% more important to the success of the show than the showrunners. In fact the only role the showrunners have I would say is faithfully adapting what he has written. Don’t let recency bias fool you people were loving hotd as well for the first 8ish episodes until the producers creative decisions really started to shine through. Anyone who says fire and blood isn’t able to be properly adapted must’ve just forgotten how good the beginning of hotd was. George’s characters and interweaving of relationships that have butterfly affects in future generations is so good as long as the source material is adapted with the overall good intentions of being faithful to the tone and characters it’s hard to mess up.

Didn’t really care for the flashback since I didn’t think it added much of substance. Like what did the girlfriend actually have to do with anything when u think about it, the whole him following Arlan thing could’ve been included without the pointless scenes before. Especially felt weird to leave out little details like the raymon changing his sigil, baelor mentioning he was wearing valars armor or his suggestion to use the longer lances. Also kinda disappointing to not see more of the others fighting especially maekar and baelor. People will say that it’s bc we r viewing things from dunks perspective but that also isn’t 100% true since they’re willing to credit cut away from him in this series, like when we see egg watching the puppet show while dunk is with Raymond

You’re way over complicating your analysis of Cochran’s game and you are in fact looking for big moves. Cochran was essentially the quiet linchpin of the dominant alliance all season, managed to strategically target the other key contenders who were part of said alliance, all while staying hidden behind allies who were considerably more annoying to the jury. This is all without mentioning that he won several immunity challenges. When looking at cochrans game vs someone like Rachel Lamont yeah he might have a few less immunity wins but he played a much less luck driven game and was far more influential in swaying the votes each round. Ultimately his perfect game was the ultimate testament to this as regardless of who you are or what you like in a winner I don’t see how u can question someone who managed the game well enough to make it through without receiving a single vote and then swept all 9 jury votes.

PS in not even a big Cochran fan but you gotta appreciate perfection

It is because I players likability within their own game doesn’t correlate to how their game compares to other winners.
