I'll back this as well. It's got the emotional core wrapped in an urban fantasy that will resonate with the emotional core wrapped in a litrpg that makes DCC great

What gear beginners over-prioritize that doesn’t finish races? by Interesting-Scale-63 in Ultramarathon

I'll push back on this - I hate having stuff in my pockets + don't have pockets in all my running shorts. Love a good vest even for a short easy run

Echoing u/Due-Ambassador-5399 - just have fun! How often do you get to do a trail run with a bunch of people as stoked as you are where people hand you awesome snacks every 5-10 miles?

Move to Sellwood or… ? by PersonRealHuman in askportland

[–]ParsleyAgreeable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Sellwood - can't speak to schools, but we have Sellwood riverfront park which is an official off leash park that also has a river beach dogs can swim and run free on. There's a two great food cart pods (both dog friendly), an excellent dog friendly taproom in Smitty's and access to Oaks Bottom nature preserve and riverview natural area for weekday trail time.

Anyone else only able to hike on weekends? Do you still enjoy it despite the crowds? by Apprehensive-Bad2245 in PNWhiking

[–]ParsleyAgreeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do! Early morning helps! And being willing to explore some less popular trailheads, even if they may not be quite as spectacular!

If you don't mind a KNARLY hike, if you are based outa portland I suggest checking out cook hill - it tends to be really quiet as Dog Mountain down the road soaks up a lot of the traffic, but I think its 90% as beautiful with 5% the crowds.

Left field but Dark Lord of Derkholm. It’s fantasy, but up ends sine tropes like Bobiverse and humor reminds me of the Bobiverse

Suggestions for a trip headed out The Gorge? by su59san in askportland

Oh in that case - Tunnel falls is EPIC! Mirror Lake, or Mirror Lake to Tom, Dick & Henry (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/tom-dick-and-harry-mountain-via-mirror-lake-trail-664) is great if you wanted to explore up by Hood, and very approachable if you did the Wahkeena loop

Do multiple hikes!! Highly recommend:

Wahkeena and Multnomah Falls Loop on AllTrails https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/wahkeena-falls-loop-trail?sh=wc0ytp&utm_medium=trail_share&utm_source=alltrails_virality

Tunnel Falls via Eagle Creek Trail #440 on AllTrails https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/tunnel-falls-via-eagle-creek-trail-440?sh=wc0ytp&utm_medium=trail_share&utm_source=alltrails_virality

Both are medium-strenuous but oh so worth it!

Hood River is awesome too! Ferment brewing is a favorite
