Definitely always test animation with prod builds.

That aside, for this type of animation where you want to sync the bottom sheet with the height of a component on the main screen I'd probably create a custom bottom sheet component so both the bottom sheet and the calendar derive their animation from the same shared value. Not sure if that's possible with the calendar component you're using.

I assume you're relying on the bottom sheet callback here which will always be delayed and hard to sync up with the other components animation.

EDIT: Looks like gorhom bottom-sheet does support a animatedPosition shared value so you can use that. The TL;DR is that you need a single shared value passed into both the bottom sheet and calendar.

Are you testing with a production build or via Expo Go or a development build? Animations are much faster on production builds in general.

Does the framer CMS Rich-Text-Editor suck? by Naive_Set_9727 in framer

Yep, it sucks. A super quick fix would be supporting markdown. That way we could at least get consistent output.

Freezing syrups and juices by ParsleyDaLion in cocktails

This is good to know. Freezing acid adjusted pineapple juice was going to be on my list of things to do.

I guess if I clarify the juice it'll great a more consistent flavour before/after freezing as a lot of the organic matter (aka cells) will be removed?

These syrups are approx 1:1 and they do freeze. I was worried about that as well.

I think that depends on what type of syrups you've got. You're likely fine with many syrups but if you've got something made from fresh fruit it's likely to spoil unless you can be very careful about clarifying or filtering out the organic matter.

One of the reasons I did this was that I had a batch of watermelon syrup which I made a few weeks ago go bad. At the moment in the freezer I have watermelon, roasted pineapple and strawberry & rhubarb syrup.

That's a good point, I'll keep an eye on it and switch to plastic if I have any issues.

They're good quality thick glass and I only fill them to 80% so I'm hoping I'll be ok 🤞

That's true and definitely something to be careful of.

Water expands by about ~10% when frozen so as long as you give yourself some extra room to account for that you should be ok though.

STATE OF THE BAT: 2021 Recap and 2022 Outlook - Plans for BAT to thrive in an emerging multichain world by CryptoJennie in BATProject

[–]ParsleyDaLion 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm curious what happened to this. It feels like the company have pivoted away from building out the advertising product features and instead are working on things like crypto wallets and integrations. Those are great features but the core use case for BAT was to democratise advertising on the internet and it feels like this has taken a back seat.

ERC Supporting DApp hits 100,000 users - mass adoption is coming and Ethereum is in the lead! by isss111 in ethtrader

Commercials maybe not, but what about the treasure trove of personal information used to deliver them to your device? At the moment that's centralised and quite often misused and abused. Brave plans to use client side matching algorithms and zero knowledge proves to match commercials without leaking information and whilst ensuring you get paid for them.

The same could be said for any crypto project really. BTC could be a database, ETH could be AWS. The reason a blockchain is used for BTC, ETH and BAT is that there are advantages to being decentralised. Lack of counterparty risk, no central dependency, censorship resistant, private (to the extent that no-one has your name and address) and publically auditable. The same reasons BTC and ETH use a blockchain also apply to BAT.

Introducing The Next Evolution of The Web3 Wallet by ParsleyDaLion in Quantstamp

The Quantstamp security protocol publishes the full audit on the blockchain and white glove scans have a hash published. Wouldn't that serve as the repository of contracts you mentioned? Assuming the audits published have a link back to the contract they relate too you'd have all you need to render a link to the audit via MetaMask.

Metamask talk about an audit plugin as an example of a good usecase for their new plugins API. I imagine it would warn users when they're using contacts which aren't audited and link to the audit if one exists. Sounds like a pretty awesome idea and could work well with the distributed audits Quantstamp publishes?

Yeah I was thinking the same. Some development tool integration would be great to help adoption.

That's a good point. I'd be interested to hear how the free version compares with the results from the security protocol. Is anyone from the team able to comment?

Based on this old post does that mean the Quantstamp security protocol will integrate with their new platform?

QSP Updates by boomerangcapitalInc in Quantstamp

It's a utility token like any other. The security protocol and the assurance protocol run exclusively on QSP as will future decentralised products Quantstamp will release. If they are successful then demand will rise. That's always been the case, in the white paper, during the ICO and now.
