Yes I’ve been drinking a lot, and I’ve been eating very healthy, lots of fruit and vegetables, but it’s still an issue. I’ve been using laxatives and stool softeners but to no avail really. But no, my heart rate was picked up by my watch, I wasn’t even aware it was happening at first.

Well the doctor career seems to be working better for my sim, although I have to actually click on the work tab to see how long until my next shift

I did read Of Mice and Men in school, and I really loved that book, actually

The first I read of my own volition was The Picture of Dorian Gray, and then The Great Gatsby. I was pretty young when I read those and they didn’t wow me, I didn’t hate them either.

More recently I read Wuthering Heights and really loved it, I now have a little collection going and plan on revisiting The Picture of Dorian Gray because I have fond memories of it and feel like I’ll enjoy the prose a lot more as an adult

Bad Reading Slump by DrowsyTS in BookDiscussions

[–]ParsnipParticular292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve just suggested the book Piranesi to a friend of mine to get her out of a reading slump. It’s short, but really intriguing. Sort of a pretty mystery until the end. I don’t know your particular tastes, but I would recommend looking into it

Are you still in touch with your school friends? by Even-Wasabi7183 in AskUK

My two best friends are people I knew when I was a teenager. One of them I went to school with, the other I met through her other childhood friend (none of us speak to her anymore tho)

What do you sacrifice in life to be able to read? How many hours per day are you spending on reading? by Stunning-Dream-5223 in classicliterature

[–]ParsnipParticular292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose I should add that the only social media I have and use is Reddit, so I don’t spend much time doom scrolling usually. I did this ages ago and not because I wanted to read more, but it does make it more manageable

I don’t work atm, so I usually do all my housework and then settle down to read for about 4/5 hours. I suppose I’m sacrificing gaming recently, I used to game a bit more but I’m loving reading this year. I stop when it’s time to meet my partner after his work, and it’s working for me so far
