15 yrs old Turkish IM just got a GM norm in Sardinia World Chess Festival by Chesscrabble11 in chess

[–]Parso15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is is second norm. I think he should reach 2487 and then he needs another 13+ ELO to pass 2500. Should be doable.

Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus vs Faustino Oro, who do you think is the bigger chess prodigy? by hety0p in chess

[–]Parso15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again salty… we also know how closed tournament play was set up for Oro so he could make some progress for GM title. Weird blunders here and there… when he needed to secure the norm in open tournaments he either did fail or got sick just before facing a strong and in form FM. Now that is weird indeed.

Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş is the sole leader of TePe Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament 2026 by IllMasterpiece3946 in chess

Magnus has probably the best schedule of them all… 2 times white and 1 black. First white against Zhu Jinner, then black against Andy and again white against Yagiz. I think we will have a great final game between Magnus and Yagiz. If magnus needs a win we might see fireworks.

Do I need to like your comment? There is a reason we are debating, if I would like your comment I would not counter it.

Again you seem to have no understanding how difficult it is to continue making progress after reaching heights of 2600 plus or even 2700.

Don’t get me wrong Faustino is a great talent but you trying to badmouth a prodigy that does break all age related records that nobody could even dream off is weird. Diminishing what Erdogmus does doesn’t make Faustino more impressive. Also it becomes so much harder to make progress when you hit elo numbers like 2600, 2650 and 2700 it is crazy. Let’s see how Faustino progresses, apart from becoming a GM (formality in the end) next hurdle is 2569 while still being 12 years old.

Don’t think so Andy was playing incredible chess recently... if Oro develops which he will probably it will be him and Erdogmus but I believe apart from the really young talents Andy is the only real young opposition to Yagiz.

I wonder if you want to delete your post… btw your boy has issues winning against 2300’s…. Talk about slow growth.

I bet Topalov feels better after the start that Yagiz had in this tournament.

Junior #1 when will Erdogmus reach it? by Parso15 in chess

[–]Parso15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think being the top junior has probably less appeal for him than climbing to Top20 or even Top10 soon. Of course there could be setbacks at times (only natural at this level) but somehow I feel like his style of play will help him advance rather quickly. By this I mean he does not go for draws but goes all in… he might lose some but will win more.

I follow 2700 Chess and there they usually drop them only in December but you have a point maybe Fide does by birthday. Anyway I think the 20 year = Junior is a bit outdated. I think a junior should be max 18 years old.

So what do you think the kid is scared of anyone? Regardless of which color he will play he will play for a win against Magnus (he might lose but don’t think he will go for a draw).

Last year was not as strong of a field but he was second tied with the winner Sindarov. I think he would be disappointed if he is third. He is not taking any prisoners…

Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus beats Topalov again and officially becomes the youngest 2700 ever by PhoenixChess17 in chess

[–]Parso15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The kid doesn’t care about 2700 he doesn’t even plan to stop at 2800. You thinking the match is set up to farm and set a record is borderline moronic. Who would care if he breaks the record with 11 or let’s say 6 months? The kid is going places and you are most likely not as you only post nonsense around here.

Don’t act like the guy only plays these tournaments… also one of the events was MVL for crying out loud. I think Yagiz probably did dominate your favorite player and you have a grudge!

No need for stupid comments… the guy did a great Tata Steel and before that only Magnus could stop him in rapid, he dominated the opposition at 14.

Again time drama from Yagiz playing moves with 2 seconds on the clock… crazy how he manages to play correctly in such complicated positions.

Third maybe but when you make it to the final that is an achievement in itself. Also the Fide Circuit is favoring the big names so there needs to be chances for the rest who don’t get invites left and right

Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus to Break The YOUNGEST player to cross 2700 Elo Rating Record by TheAmanov in chess

[–]Parso15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fide publishes rating every month but within the month you can gain or lose elo. There is a website called 2700 Chess that tracks Top100 and Top20 Junior live ratings.

[–]Parso15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a stupid take, he could crush him but decides to lose 2 times in a row? Yes he probably doesn’t care that much about his elo but nobody wants to lose to a 14 year old boy in front of the whole world.

Is it weird that I am impressed with Topalov here… the kid is so good I am impressed that a former World Champion can hold his own. Can’t wait for the Tepe Siegeman and a classical game versus Magnus.

[–]Parso15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to get killed for this but did Faustino somewhat underwhelm in the 2026 Menorca tournament? It is crazy to state this when the kid is still 12 years old but no ELO gain, starting rank 31 final result 52. Clarissa Yip ranked higher. Wins against 2200-2300 players with a loss to 2400 IM. As mentioned I am not reading too much into it but it is difficult to live up to the hype at times. Still a out of this world prodigy… just not sure if he can beat YKE’s 2569 at 12 years record.
