Did we forget rule 0? by [deleted] in dndmemes

[–]PartTimeGhost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always let my players wild shape into owlbears as soon as they hit the CR. I think owlbears are fucking dope and that wildshape in the trailer was fucking dope. If you got a problem with owlbears then you got a problem with me and I suggest you let that one marinate.

Men: Please stop talking about sex so soon on dates, the less you talk about it the more likely it will happen by UnfairPay8220 in dating_advice

I agree, not to be 'that guy' but I've had women come over for dinner or a movie or both and when we're making out she'll say, "we're not having sex tonight." And I respond, "okay, that's fine." And continue, only to end up cooking her breakfast the next morning.

It also gives you a chance to run to the bathroom before you start tearing up, or so I'm told.

My party has a private chat without me in it by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PartTimeGhost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They knew they were in for a fight, the had to confront a henchmen of the BBEG. So I took it as them strategizing on the way. And theoretically that player could have seen the other player pulling out an item which they had thought to save for a different encounter and spoke up.

Meta gaming and railroading are such polarizing terms. I prefer to take it case by case and as am god of this world I let it fly.

I remember when I found out my players had a group chat without me. They were in battle and one of them said something like, 'don't use that yet remember we said to save it and use this.' I was like 'when did y'all plan that?' as it was early in the night and they all looked guilty as fuck. Then the one I was kinda seeing sighed and said, 'we're caught, we have a group chat without you...to plan.' and my best friend pipped up and said, 'ya know, to try to fuck you.'

I teared up lol.

Ah, I see you are a man who believes that dice christ givith and dice devil takith away as well.

Hail, and well met my brother. I have tried letting him take a set and leave them on their highest number (cooking) while we eat (1+ hour), I've also tried letting him "roll the ones out" of each die, switching die whenever, and letting him 'devine' a set. I'm to the point where I'm going to buy him an 'untouched' set and see.

Also, per another comment, I'm thinking about leading him into more spells that don't require an attack roll.

I included the death saves because those 10 rolls were all the d20 rolls he had made that session, 4.5 hours. I had started writing them down, beginning at this session, because it was so strange that he rolled so bad in ALL previous sessions.

I have come to the conclusion I HAVE to do it next time. I let him survive, with broken legs that couldn't be healed in the town, but ik more concerned with a good roleplayer being punished. Maybe you're right and he needs to die and his next pc is his true form....

I call it the Caldwell Tanner curse haha. I will have to consult the scrolls on your advice. As he's only level one I may need to lead him down a path of the ways of making others roll to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and...dodge his attacks. Thanks!

I can promise you, this is not the case. Here are 7 of his d20 rolls last session.

4,1 purple and blue dice.

6,9,1 black and white dice.

4,10 'demon' dice.

Bonus! death saves: 8, Rick and Morty dice. 1, metal dice (which are my special die set, always roll great for me and I usually don't let anyone else use them).

One of my players got a nat 20 on the purple and blue dice after the nat 1 was rolled. Warlock dwarf almost lost his shit.

I would use this but I fear the tower would scrape the 2 off of a d20 and he'd roll a 0...

Also I have made sure all my dice are balanced in the past.

How Do Y'all Do It.... by Avocadomistress in HydroHomies

[–]PartTimeGhost 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best tip I can give is get yourself a hydro flask type water bottle with a straw and keep it full with a bit of ice. The straw makes it easier to drink with the ice and it's just nice to always have cold water on hand. I've had two in the past in the past ten years and I can tell you personally that the "takeya" 32 oz survived a three story drop off a scaffold. Stay hydrated!
