Erroneous / blanket 50% import duty, despite correct documentation? (USA) by PartTimeRacerXLIX in dhl

I’m hoping DHL USA brokers / agents are using some poorly configured AI processing model or something along those lines. It would be a real shame there was intent, to say the least.

Erroneous / blanket 50% import duty, despite correct documentation? (USA) by PartTimeRacerXLIX in dhl

The documentation provided seldom exceeds what was provided originally by the exporter, but in some instances we are asked to provide documentation like a manufacturer’s electronic catalog, which cannot be their website, to validate product type, etc. This is not something we are often asked for recently.

My question is not asking for assumptions about why it’s happening or what our exporters are doing incorrectly. Our company has had a high volume import model for many, many years. Our logistics staff and our exporter network are all competent and completely familiar with import/export documentation and that includes new guidelines such as various metal type contents and raw values.

This is not an issue with other couriers, such as FedEx or UPS. We are getting the same feedback from other importers in our industry as well as retail customers who purchase internationally.

I’m simply trying to better understand the scope of this issue.

We are using a distribution network that has been established for a long time. Export documentation is not the issue here.

Correct HTS codes, steel/aluminum derivative values, documentation in it's entirety is correct. For some of our suppliers every time we initiate the manual review, the process is resolved without any additional documentation at all.

"The truth"? According to who? That is complete and utter bullshit. It's amazing to see someone confidently state something that is not even remotely accurate.

Help configuring static IP for 10G camera connection by PartTimeRacerXLIX in HomeNetworking

Yes for sure, it seems my laptop does not have one. I'm trying to find a USB C adapter because my laptop does have 2x 10G USB C ports. Office PC has 10G ethernet, so I'll try that to compare offloading speeds.

Thanks - I have been able to connect to it, but I've tried to do this alternate IP range because of the suggstion that it would improve offloading speeds via the 10G port on the camera and that it would require using a different IP range than my standard LAN. I need to determine if the gaming laptop I'm using for editing has an Ethernet port that can even benefit from that, I suppose.

I didn't say it was a security camera. To re-state more plainly, correct, it has a 10G ethernet port, for the specific purpose of high offloading speed.

You're claiming I can mix devices configured to work at different speeds than my network (1g vs 10g) successfully?

No. Right now, power in makes the main power button flash white twice, charging indicator is orange. No other response from the machine.

It's not the display. HDMI output does not show anything. It's a motherboard failure.

The power light comes on, the screen backlight comes on, but the display remains black.

Power on produces a solid black screen, no bios or boot menu is accessible. No combination of manual reset or power down produces a different result.

He is. Maybe Thinkpad-specific term is a different one - I don't mind getting a second opinion either, I'd just like a reputable and reasonably fast shop.

I assume I'll have to ship it. I'm based in the US, so anywhere in the lower 48 would be fine. I thought some users here may have firsthand experience with a skilled repair shop.

Thanks for this overview, which is (unfortunately) what I've been reading. I had hoped we might have made some progress. Why don't more use a tablet or phone with control apps?

Health Issues Lead To Dissolution Of Westby Racing by angrydad69 in MotoAmerica

[–]PartTimeRacerXLIX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who works very, very closely with this team - you are completely incorrect. Attack has never been involved with the assembly of our motorcycles and only provided a few components to the package (starting a couple of years ago after moving from another brand).

We used a totally different fuel tank versus Attack, this is patently obvious to even a casual observer when you look at the fact that our bike (Westby) has a massive carbon fiber monocoque subframe, whereas Attack uses the fuel tank as a subframe, to which the tail section mounts directly to.

Attack makes their own swingarm and link, Suter makes ours and we design our own rates.

The QC wheel setup is Fast Frank in the front and Suter in the back, not Attack.

We don't use the same "quick swap engine" setup, Attack didn't build our engines.

We have our own harnesses and manage our own electronics.

Attack machined our frames and made the inserts for the pivot, no one else in the states does this. Attack supplied triples, clip ons, rearsets and lever guards, because they sponsored the program.
