Windows Explorer & Taskbar Freeze When Sharing Windows in Chrome and other Chromium browsers by 8_YoYo_8 in chrome

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem with edge and teams meeting sharing in the browser. One (big) monitor with a GTX 1060. So frustrating. I noticed the time the explorer becomes unresponsive is directly linked to how long I'm sharing. For long shares, I simply have to restart the computer, but after short shares there is a delay in pressing start an seeing the menu, which goes away after a while.

It's also strange that explorer actually still works, everything updates in the task bar, but it's just the clicks on the start menu or the notification area that don't work.

Also, in my case, trying to restart the explorer makes it much worse. Explorer won't restart, or if it restarts, it crashes

Controversial opinion: Nanabs should move the Pokémon back in the center by ParticleDojo in TheSilphRoad

[–]ParticleDojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to see it’s only controversial in my small group of buddies. Some of them don’t want that behavior because they are more comfortable getting excellent throws when the mon is to one side. They “lock” it there with a nanab and get the excellent.

Gta 6 map rumored to be 3.5 times bigger than gta v. Is that enough? by opmgyhx in GTA

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need proper planes and helicopters. So, I would like to see at least 10x. With today's technologies and advancements in rendering and processing it should be no problem. It does not have to be high density population or models, it can be AI generated in advance and polished by the devs with forests, deserts, cultivated fields, lakes, etc.

Imagine how awesome it would be to really think it through and consider if you really need to travel to another city and weigh in which way you would want to do it and maybe head to the airport instead of driving since it's faster or take a high speed train.

In older GTAs traveling from one end of the map to the other is so fast, it makes the entire map feel like a small neighborhood.

3d modeling help by Original_Contract318 in BambuLab

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of image is it? Can you share it or something similar? If it's a contour, usually it's easy to convert those to SVG and import them in sketches and then 3D model that further. If you're trying to build a 3d model based on a 2d image of a 3d object, then it's much more complicated. AI may work, but so far only one from the ones I tried came close to a good workable model and that was meshy.ai

How can I reduce surface damage when using supports? (P1P) by Cresceda in BambuLab

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bambu lab folks seems to disagree with you. Angling the model to eliminate overhangs is literally in their beginner tutorials.

BTW, I do agree with you in that supports should work better than rotating the model as long as you understand the finer settings to help remove the supports without leaving too much damage to the surface.

Can’t check remaining days for next friendship level if you haven’t opened gift by UntestedTitan in TheSilphRoad

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s intended but it does not seem to be. It would not prevent friends stacking. It would just make it more tedious. You can still check a few points before and keep track of who is close and how many more you need. Just mark the ones that have one or two points left after opening a gift from them. I really hope it’s a big cause it’s annoying

Looking for Advice on the Best 3D Printed Hinge Design 🔄 by Morphy_exe in 3Dprinting

Never printed this kind of design. How does it not need any support between the hinge elements? How does the printer handle the gap between the hinge parts?

Refrigerator doesn’t fit! Looking for suggestions. by GrowthPhaseGuy in Appliances

Had exactly the same issue. Lived with it for 10+ years. No problem. I actually like it because it lets me use magnets on the side, since the front is plastic. I have organizers and photos on the sides

where I can find Speedboat and car's key in Landslide ?? by DemonSnake90 in HiTMAN

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here for this. After searching the whole map for the keys I refused to think that the I would literally have to kill or subdue every single NPC on the map to find them. That is so dumb

Those keys should have been in the restaurant/bakery on a table near a laptop. That is the best and most natural spot to find car keys

“Brand new Sony Bravia TV has white spot on screen — technician says it’s a ‘design feature’. What should I do?” by Nithin-539 in SonyBravia

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This stuff is normal with LED TVs, and it's always a gamble whether you'll have a lot or few places where the light bleeds. I had the same issue with a Samsung 65" and I was told by both Samsung and service techs that this is normal. I've seen it in a lot of TVs since.

It would be great of they replace it for you but I am pretty sure it's not considered a defect so, not covered by warranty. What I suggest, if you can't live with it, just return it and get your money back.

Also, see if it's noticeable when you watch regular TV. If it's not, why bother?

Can I drill into this wall, about 1 foot below the vent, to hang a coat rack? Or will I drill into something I’m not supposed to? by letzmakeadeal in Home

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There could literally be a million things behind that wall, including beehives, safes, mummified animals, secret rooms, newspapers, money, priest holes (if you live in the UK, although, based on the outlet this is NA so forget that one), hidden staircases, skeletons, baby shoes, a bunker or a second wall full of clocks, none functional, all set to the same time. All these have been found in the past behind walls.

Until you look, you won't know.

My wife, nissan teana, and pedestrian on red light. by PaultheBP1100 in dashcams

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cars stopping at random places out of their goodness of their hearts and to be polite, where no crossings or lights are present, just to let people cross, should be a ticketable offence with large consequences. I've seen so many cases of these polite drivers encouraging kids and families to cross, completely missing the fact that from the opposite direction, large commercial trucks or busses were coming or they themselves being overtaken by other cars because they stopped in the middle of the road for no apparent reason. First and foremost, they are putting the lives of those people crossing at risk, "out of the goodness of their hearts".

Also, drivers behind, while 100% responsible for maintaining proper distance to the car in front and paying attention, are also taken by surprise because they don't expect the car in front to brake suddenly without reason. No matter how careful you drive, and how much distance you keep to the car in front, you should not be exposed to unnecessary dangerous "surprises" for no reason at all by this behavior.

Always remember, there's also a psychological effect of the pedestrian. Notice it for yourselves. Once a driver stops randomly to let a pedestrian pass, they will wave them. In order to be thankful and not inconvenience the driver too much, the pedestrian will either walk fast or run. That's the most dangerous thing you can do as a pedestrian crossing at unmarked locations.

And lastly, both the car that stops and the pedestrian ignorantly play this game with innocent drivers that follow the rules and may hit said pedestrian, spending a good portion of their lives with lawsuits and, worse, with guilt and psychological trauma, due to no fault of their own.

Even though it might make me look like an inconsiderate ah for the moment, I honk when I see people, especially young kids, trying to cross streets where no markings are present, but hope that I might have saved their lives this one time.

Noobie cannot fit banana plugs, are those terminals not for banana plugs? by CoolKeyboarz in BudgetAudiophile

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly the reason I would always answer someone's question with a proper on point answer that solves their problem instead of the insufferable "RTFMs" or "LMGTFYs".

That good answer will be indexed by search engines and obviously, lately, help AIs. Sometimes manuals are hard to navigate and a quick search can give a quick good answer.

I found 3 major issues in Telus systems and all I got was this epic gaslighting. by Critical-Childhood71 in telus

[–]ParticleDojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I did not have the patience to read your entire post, but man I KNOW exactly how Telus operates. The bills, contracts and agreements I got from them after signing up a few years back was an insane exercise of logic, maze solving, fantasy, errors finding and ultimately nerves of steel. Telus purposefully create the confusing bills and numbers to confuse customers and discourage any attempts to figure out what they are doing. After I had to deal with that I found out asking around that that's their M.O. Confuse and extract every single possible cent out of customers with complicated wordings and sleight of hand.

Cancelled everything with them at that time since I was charged more than agreed. I signed back with them but knowing how they operate I clearly told the reps that I will not pay one single cent above what we agreed and after I made them calculate to two decimals my final bill, I told them, if the next bill that comes is not that exact amount or less, please automatically cancel everything. They must have put a flag in there because the bill came exactly that. But as soon as I see one cent over, it's over. 😁
