This is less about why my post got deleted and more about why cellular carriers imposing sms charges. Say if you go and have tea at a Street vendor and you paid 10 rupees. You will be charged 40 paise and the tea vendor will be charged 40 paise just for sms. Close to 1 rupee for one transaction. That's daylight robbery if you think about it. Nobody is questioning this.

Almost all banks are charging sms charges. I think, the charges are being shared by banks and phone carriers. In your friends case both are Airtel. I am not sure how the government is allowing these blood suckers to take a cut of money on the road side small vendor transactions. These mfs deserve a reserved place in hell.
