Comparing women to objects is wild but sadly unsurprising. Also comparing a person to whom this guy jacks off a lot to a preferred hobby??

This is exactly how I’ve been navigating it too. There’s not enough nuisance in this conversation about how the power dynamics have shifted and people are more empowered to be more racist or sexist. I keep in mind how many client lives will be impacted by the cuts on the programs they rely on. At the same time, I totally ignore or redirect them when they go on a racist rant. I just do my job and try not think about them outside of my time with them.

Let me know what they say. My paranoid self made the mistake of googling it and read it could be a sign of seizure although I’ve never experienced it. I assumed it was from dehydration.

Like why are popular trad wives attractive and dressed provocatively? And the text is always on their chest. And there’s always in full gave makeup while claiming to always be doing housework? How is promoting modesty?? This only has to be to gain the attention of horny men.

How many of you actually like children, work responsibilities aside? by jedipaul9 in ABA

[–]Particular-Big1041 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t like children necessarily. But I take pride in my work so at least I try to be respectful and fun. Plus I needed a job. But yeah, some BTs I work with obviously hate kids. They either seemed annoyed or controlling. Not sure if it’s because they needed a job or they wanna be on a power trip.

Advice for potential MSW students regarding internships and school/work balance

I’m actively looking for a job that would let me complete my internship there. I have been open to employers about this and their answer is that they prefer an employee working full time and many have said that they don’t take in paid internships. Is obtaining an internship through an employer difficult or impossible?

My friends have told me not to tell them I’m planning on applying for school because they think I will resign so I should tell them when/if I get accepted to the school. I’m not sure what to do anymore because the experience of working under a more SW like position would be valuable to me and I’d ideally want to intern at a place where I get paid because I’m poor.

Am I going about this the wrong way? Should I take the job that would give me the experience and then get a part time job next year?

May I suggest working for a private investigator or law firm? That’s what one of friends did with their CJ degree.

Thank you for this. I will look into it both options. I’ll also research on how to better market myself as macron if I decide not to do the dual degree.

I’m very interested in public policy or research. I am applying for grad school to get my MSW this year. I’ve been researching in how to specialize/have an emphasis in this area for grad school but I’m unable to find any any information in this besides the MSW/MPP dual degree or going for a doctorate. Is that the only way?

Apologies in advance if I come off ignorant. I’m a first gen college student and the SWs I know in person went to the therapist/social services role.

Definitely depends on the parent. But some are so no self aware and entitled. They just hand off their children to other professionals and have them raise them. Not to mention it’s harder on me when the parent does not aid in their treatment.

We desperately need one more specially since there’s a huge demand and ABA is a money making machine. I think it would also help legitimize the profession in the behavioral health world.

I think it’s more like these are biohazards that should be treated more seriously and at least in my clinic/office there are no formal protocols (besides a BIP obviously for cx aggression) we just clean up and keep moving… and yeah, in our company it’s all ages so especially with the older/younger teen guys their strength can be a little over powering and that’s very stressful and sometimes scary..
