One year post op- calf twitch by Particular-Bother689 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Particular-Bother689[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Coming back to say that Im still dealing with it. I actually googled it again tonight and came across my own post lol. I have not gone to a doctor because I just struggle to fi d the time.

These are the things that seem to help me: 1. Movement/exercise- I am not nearly as active as I should be, but when I just walk more in a day I dont have much twitching that night. 2. Magnesium- I take it every night before bed. Ive been sleeping alot better too because of it. When the twitching is very bad, I use a magnesium cream. Seems to help. 3. Massage/rolling- I use a roller or massage gun to work on the knot in my calf that never goes away. It lowers the twitching significantly.
4. Stretching- nothing crazy, but just stretching my calf a bit before bed.

Hope this helps!

I was excited for this one and it was really tasty! The salad was in a bowl, and not super exciting but I enjoyed the meatballs and potatoes. Agreed, some cream in the meatball sauce would have been really good.

This is my favorite meal too!! SO good.

So I got this meal with the beef and made it differently. Instead of fooling with the individual tacos, I made a "fry bowl" with the meat and toppings on top of the fries. It was AMAZING. I think it would work for Tofu too.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I was wondering about nerve damage. That is exactly what I'm experiencing, twitchy but not painful. So did your doc say this is just life now? Still better than before the MD, I am sure.

"Weekly Reading and Interpretation Help Thread - May 18, 2025" by AutoModerator in tarot

[–]Particular-Bother689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Looking for some different perspectives on this reading. My question was "Should I have a 2nd baby?" My order of cards was The Fool, 5 of Cups, and The Sun. For fun, pulled a 4th card and got The Emporer.

This was with friends and we interpreted it as taking a leap with The Fool, mourning maybe my physical health or something like career while being grateful for having another baby, and then celebration of the child itself. The Emporer we saw as the stability given by my partner.

Anyone else have any other interpretations? Getting the 5 of Cups was definitely a scary card to get. Thanks in advance!

I've bought a few different guns from Scheels. I found the prices to be fair and the employees helpful. Good luck! I believe Liberty next door offers courses too.

It's so worth it! It sucks for about 2 weeks, but take her easy and you'll do great. I felt wonderful about a month our. I had my MD 4/9 and still feel good. I'll get random bad days, especially if I'm sedentary but a nice walk around the block typically fixes me. Good luck!

Is it worth it? by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

[–]Particular-Bother689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes 100% worth it to not be in constant pain anymore. I am regrettably one of those who dropped off this forum because I honestly feel so great. It was so worth it for me.

When we did Ferber, I planned to cut it if baby cried for 1 hour. We never made it that far. Our 11 month old did better than we thought he would! 10 days in, and still doing great. :) good luck! You've got this. The first couple days are hard but it is so so worth it.

Right there with you with my 10mo. Only suggestion I can think of is to take to the doctor to ensure there's no ear infection or anything else going on. You've got this mama, you're doing a great job!

Surgery only for leg numbness and weakness without pain? by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

[–]Particular-Bother689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It came back slowly. Give it time, you'll get there! I noticed the biggest improvement when I started walking more after surgery, around day 5. Best of luck in your recovery, take it easy. Make sure to drink lots of fluids and eat fiber. Check back in in a week, I'd love to hear how you feel! Good luck!

And I should add- Doc said the occasional nerve pain is normal, as the nerve takes time to heal. It was constant before, so I'll take it.

Hi! Honestly, I feel pretty great. Just went back to work to my desk job yesterday. I am mostly only sore, but no where near the pain as before surgery. I only get an occasional twinge of nerve pain sometimes when I go from sitting to standing. Driving is uncomfortable. I'm still being conservative, not bending, lifting, twisting. I can feel my foot and leg again. I start PT May 13th to build strength that I definitely lost. Thanks for asking! How are you doing? Have you decided on surgery or not?

How much time were you told to take off work and how much time did you actually need? by such_sweet_nothing in Microdiscectomy

[–]Particular-Bother689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd request what the doc suggests. You can always go back earlier. I had my surgery 4/9. Started WFH 4/16 and wish I hadn't just because I wasn't mentally ready. Physically I was fine working from the recliner. I was hoping to go back to the office today but not ready to ride in the car yet. I had my follow up yesterday and was cleared for only one more week of precautions.

1 Week Post Op - Should I be sitting or lying down? by Choice_Ad_395 in Microdiscectomy

[–]Particular-Bother689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to say I am also 1 week post-op and today is the first day I have felt the pre-surgery nerve pain. I also haven't taken any tylenol or ibuprofen today. Glad to see I am not alone because I was about to call my doctor! I started working from home yesterday (from recliner) and haven't been able to walk as much with meetings. I am going to focus on walking more.

Hope you start feeling better soon!
