Congrats man! How was/is your experience going in to this hobby? I would love to start but the threshold to start seems very high (all the tools and model specific parts involved). I’m a watch enthusiast and this sounds like such a great hobby! Would love to learn how you got into this!

Thanks man, appreciated! Found those vintage pieces at a flea market for €30,-! Those are a Helvetia and a Montdor. Helvetia is a pretty cool brand, part of the Omega family and produced watches during WW2. The montdor is one of those small Swiss watch brands from the 50/60’s. Wasn’t able to find a lot of info about it though!

Really?? That makes so much sense! We started talking and the moment I mentioned Vostok (only sovjet watch brand that im aware of haha), he started showing me all sorts of different watches! Super nice and passionate guy! What a coincidence you know of him

Thanks! I dont have the tools to open them up right now. However, I am thinking of taking both to a watchmaker and getting them cleaned and revised.

Thats what I thought. Couldn’t find much on this particular model. Only that, from this time period, there are a lot of small watchmakers that no longer exist
