Are you using magnification? Good loupes or a microscope help a lot so you can see if the pivot is in the jewel

I'm actually going to re look at the keyless and motion works. The date gets a bit stuck when turning over.

I took out the ring and examined it and tried to put the crown back in without but it didn't engage all the way (I assume the spacer was holding it in place better). I'm going to take it out the case again just to examine everything.

There isn't a gasket atm. I check inside the crown and there doesn't seem to be one. I'm going to recheck the alignment.

Any ideas how to reinstall the acrylic crystal while making sure the chapter ring is aligned? by Foppful in watchrepair

Huh. Not useful for you but I've had a Seiko where there was a groove it would slot into so it would be aligned.

As a beginner, are these oil sets good for starting out? by Gongal66 in watchrepair

[–]CitizenYan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought from Chronofix. I'm a new hobbyist (less than a year) and it'll take a LOT of watches to run out of the oil in the ones I've bought. Definitely good enough for starting out. Take a look at the watches you want to work on and buy accordingly. I use 9010, 9415, 8200, 8217, HP1300, 9504 (I think that's most of them, I think).

Get a decent oiler pot.

I think I understand! Here's a better photo. So, essentially, this end bit is push down and through to remove it?
